I'm really loving the official Apple case and cover. I swore I wouldn't buy it but after finding no soft edge solutions yet and since a hard shell generic case ate the corners off one of my older generation iPads, I bit the bullet and got the Apple set. Honestly, the product is amazing. It's butter smooth and feels great in the hand. I think it's actually higher quality than the leather smart case from the Air 1 (although I do wish it were one piece rather than two). The price is still outrageous but I think $59-79 would be very reasonable for this set.

One gripe about the Apple set though...the colors online look so rich but the actual items are a different color completely. I had the pink, which is a nice bubblegum pink online but in person it is a washed out fleshy pink. I returned it in exchange for the royal blue, which online looks like a periwinkle/purple blue but again in person it's more of just a light cool shaded blue. The mint and orange are also much more washed out in person than as advertised. Just a word of encouragement for folks to buy these in store to see the true color rather than ordering sight unseen.

Good thought. I have rose gold so I was thinking about either the pink set or maybe royal blue..

Oh wow, that's a big difference. Geez. Might as well get midnight blue then, lol. Didn't think that was going to be an issue with the colors being off.

What color and how do you like yours? Worth the money?

I went Charcoal on a Space Gray iPad. I also have stone on my mini which I really like as well. To me they are my favorite cases Apple has made. I really love the feel and I can just pull the cover off if I want a little less weight.

You really should see them I'm person. I didn't think the royal blue was faded at all in person some colors do look better in person too.

Anyone considered a Booq sleeve? I have an older Taipan case I purchased for my original iPad and a Viper 13 inch for my aluminum Macbook; both have held up with great quality. Looking at the Viper hard case 12 (below) as a possibility. Not sure it'll be a "snug" fit but placing the 9.7 Pro (with smart keyboard) into the internal sleeve might be suitable.

We use a booq sleeve for one of our MBPs and it is a really high quality item. This looks great if all you need is a slipcase for traveling!

I ordered a Moko case (the one with bent corners that hold the iPad in). It is the same case version from Moko I used with the Air for almost two years and has smart function and protects well. $6.

Just have to wait until the 14th since that is when the batch with smart function will be delivered.

I just received this ESR case:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Leather-Mag...01D06IZFM/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

I wanted something for some protection until the high quality cases become available (and I've decided on which one to order)

For the price I'm impressed. The back cover is a hard plastic of which I do doubt if it will survive a fall but the cutouts are perfect, the only one that's a little tight is the one around the camera lens. The smart function (wake up/sleep) does work. Though I'm pretty pleased for the price I will still be looking out for something else, preferably with a way to hold the pencil as well.

Right now I've got my eye on these:
Sena 360 Vettra http://www.senacases.com/vettra-360-ipad-pro-9-7
Dodo case http://www.dodocase.com/products/ipad-pro-9-7-cases

I've also looked at the Kavaj but I don't like cases that cover the bezels, or the Pad & Quill but I don't know about their adhesive technique to hold the iPad...

I am interested in the Vettra 360 as well. I had a dodo case for an older iPad, but the stitching started coming apart after a couple of months and didn't last past a year.

I bit the proverbial bullet and purchased the Apple Silicon Case and Smart cover...both navy blue...expensive but it works!

Guys enlighten me please, when you guys say the "Smart function" doesn't work, what are you referring to?
My iPad 3 works with my old Monoprice case, I refer to the "Magnetic Auto-Wake/Sleep". Isn't that tied to the screen anyway, or is that the part that is basically wrong with the cases... or are you talking about some other feature.

My guess is the "Smart Function" refers to the cover putting the iPad to sleep when closed and waking up when opened.

The case just shipped so will have pics to post and my thoughts probably by this weekend.

I received the JETech case today. I am very pleased with it. The defective Moko case I've been using for a week, isn't even comparable in any way, shape, or form.
