Otter box- making slim sexy phones fat and ugly for 4 years and counting.

If you haven't used the New Otterbox cases then you shouldn't judge . Otterbox cases protect $700 to $1000 phones from daily abuse and just work. I have been using them for years and have never had a ding or scratch on any of my phones. Don't hate :D

Any news on when Belkin will release cases for customers in the UK. Their website sends you to Belkin resellers but non have any. Ie Amazon UK.

I don't think it's a case of hating. I don't like them either and would never use them. They are fat, bulky and ugly and no one can deny that. I'm sure no one can deny the level of protection they provide either. The point is at least for me I didn't buy a phone as beautiful and sexy as the iPhone and then keep it in an ugly awful case like the Otterbox ones. :(

Now if had any other phone, for example the Samsung Galaxy I wouldn't have a problem putting it a case as bulky and ugly as the Otterbox ones. :D

Tried a couple of cases at Best Buy yesterday and I was like "No, thank you!" Cases completely change the feel of my beautiful iPhone 5. The thinness is amazing without any cases. What I have done is ordered a back protector. That is all that's going on my phone this time around. :)

I was all about going without a case. I figured I would just baby it.

Then I got the Otterbox defender. I always thought they were ugly and bulky but gotta say that I really like it. Its definitely a high quality case that doesn't add too much bulk and is obviously offering mega protection.

It is so well made and I think it looks really nice. This is from someone who insulted the Otterbox last year and has always hated any kind of case and even screen protectors. Its won me over.

I never use a case but I actually might get one of those. I'm leaning towards the wallet slim, I'm just undecided if its douchey or not to carry your iPhone in a leather case alongside your ID, credit card, and cash. Less to lose but if you lose it your really ****ed but I guess you could track it. I also feel like I'd stick it in my back pocket by force of habit and break it by force of ass sit.

I find the slipcase a great way to protect my phone and also allow me to use the phone naked. As you point out, the habit of putting your wallet with CCs, etc. in your back pocket is a risk to your phone. You can work on habitually putting you phone in one of your front pockets.

But whatever you find most useful and convenient is right for you. You are right that the risk of losing your phone AND all your CCs and papers is daunting, which is why I keep them separate.

Enjoy whatever you decide upon...:D

X-Doria Venue

should be arriving any day. They seem to have awesome CS too. Ordered launch day and all they really said on shipping was 'right now our shipping will probably be delayed 1-2 days' so I wasn't really expecting it to show up anytime soon.

They emailed me like Wednesday and said they were sorry, they didn't meet their shipping deadline so they were crediting $10 back to me. I never contacted them or said anything to prompt it. But they've shipped it so I am expecting it tomorrow or Tuesday.

Bumper case off eBay. $5.99. Simple but protects enough for me.

Cheaper cases and especially bumpers concern me because dirt and dust can slip in under the case easily and then get trapped. So any movement of the case then rubs that dirt particle against the phone and scratches it over and over and gouges it and never stops.

I used an Apple bumped and it gouged my phone bad.

That's why I either go nude or now use something quality made.

Another one with the incase...!
What's it like in the hand? Is it rubbery/got good grip or is it slippy?

I just picked up the black version of the slider, and it's a slightly rubbery surface so it has a good grip to it. I think that the black is the only color with the grippy surface, and all the other colors are smooth, but I could be wrong. Overall it's a pretty good case, thin and protective. The only drawback is that it recesses the sleep/wake and volume buttons a little bit too much so it's more difficult to push them down. I was going to wait to see what Speck would offer, but I didn't wanna take any chances with my new phone.

How is the rubber in comparison to the old Candyshell for the 4/4S? I purchased one today in anticipation of me getting my phone and it seems they REALLY improved the rubber's durability. I couldn't get it to flake / eraser effect at all, but I just want to make sure that it wasn't only me.

The thin plastic piece above the Lightning connector and headphone jack will break eventually.

I never use a case, my phone is always naked. Just ask Siri.

otterbox defender. this thing is huge but i love it. phone feels so solid and secure and the case is very high quality. don't really care about the fact the phone is much bulkier. only issue would be that touch screen isn't as responsive with the plastic that goes over screen. hoping that if i put an additional screen protector on it there will be zero space between phone and that outer plastic screen protector and it will be more responsive. then again having two layers of screen protection could make it worse. as it is, the responsiveness is only barely less responsive so i'm not too worried. also worried about any case causiong scratches over time. i have a best screens ever skin coming and hope i can put it on and still use the case.

Gah, you just had to post this. Now I ended up ordering this in addition to the others...

I'm curious - I see it comes with both an anti-static screen protector and back film protector. Is there a point to putting on the back protector in addition to the case? Doesn't the case cover the back anyway?

Just wondering if you're going to apply it... I don't think I'll use the screen protector. I can never seem to apply them well without getting bubbles, etc., and as long as the sides of that case have a slight rim to protect the screen if it falls on a flat surface, I don't see much point.

Love the design of that nude case though. Guess I have 3 cases now for my ip5 on the way lol... Photive Bumper, Belkin View Case (kinda wishing I got the Griffin one instead) and now this Nude one.

I had a bad experience with the otterbox defender. The glass back got scratched when dust made it inside the case. I ended up getting a gelaskin and a clear case for my iphone 4 and now for the 5 I got the invisible shield for back and front and a soft clear case.

BodyGuardz, nuff said. Great coupon offer! Never used them before. Heard some great things. Otterbox too big... What's the point of having the slimmest phone when you triple it's size?

Why do people come on a thread that's specifically asking about cases to comment that they don't do cases?
