I originally purchased the Cape Cod blue and really wanted to like it.. but it was too bright (I like the muted colors better) so I returned it. I am waiting to see what colors apple releases next - my favorite color was the cosmos blue and I really hope they re-release it or something like it.

The stock Apple cases look like garbage in three months. Both leather and silicone.

Get AppleCare and no case. When your phone is all dinged up, throw it full force against the pavement, pay the $99nor something and get a new one. It’s cheaper

Lmao. I’m pretty sure it’s common that people do this. Lol

Used my X naked for a year. Looks great to me. No scratches on the sceeen. Minor wear on the frame.

Buck naked, baby!
Space gray?

As mentioned in the Patina thread, after a 1-week stint with a silicone case, I'm back to the saddle brown.

The saddle leather case is (IMO) the only one worth buying. I used one on my 7 Plus. They age really nicely.

I went for the forest green one - I really like it, it's kinda cool and understated. I'm not sure it's worth the £55 Apple charges but that's the price you have to pay.

On my previous X I had a tan case and on my iPhone 8 I had project red.

...I also went for the Forest Green on my XS.

I always tend to go for blueish cases but just didn't like this year's new blue cases (had the Cosmos Blue leather case for my previous 8 Plus - that was a gorgeous color!).

Weirdly though, the Forest Green does look bluish in some lighting conditions..!!

For me it's just the right shade. I wouldn't have wanted a bright green.

I agree, under certain light it can look bluish.

+1 with Forest Green on my Max. And while £55 is the most I have ever paid for an iPhone case, it seems (almost) a fair price given how perfectly it fits and feels high quality.

I didn’t like any of the colours this year which is a pity as I do prefer Apple cases. I’ve ended up ordering a grip case from Story Leather as they have a wider selection of colours.

When I bought the Max at John Lewis they were offering a clear silicone case at half price, so I bought it. But it had to be the most rigid, unbendable plastic available (it was a real struggle to put it on and take off again) and it really added to the heft of the phone so I had to buy an Apple case.

I agree on the quality of Apple cases - they're very good.

I bought a forest green leather case with my new gold XS. Looks good against the gold colored stainless steel.

Saddle brown always. Best case I’ve ever had for an iPhone. Love patina.

I got black. I strongly considered returning it and getting the midnight blue, but then the black was already looking a little dinged up (not damaged, just natural wear) so I figured it would be lame to try to return it.

For me, the patina on the tan model I had on the X didn't hold up particularly well - it just looked grimy despite using a mild cleansing on it.
