Nope. I'm already expecting not to have it until at least Feb / March so not getting my hopes up.

Yea I think it will be like getting a jet black last year, or a cto Mac pro back in 2013 like up to 12 weeks maybe but not longer, no way.
My biggest question is, will there be store pickups on nov 2nd?
I preordered original Space Gray Apple Watch Sport April 10, 2015 less than 5 minutes after preorders opened (official release date was April 24) and didn't receive it until May 19. I hope we don't face a similar fate.
5 minutes after pre orders I expect the page to look like this

I'm pretty sure that it'll be completely sold out within minutes - just like the Jet Black 7+ was one year ago.
For me, personally, everything after Christmas is a big no-no. I'll just keep my 7 then or buy an 8.
The problem is that the yield is ridiculously low, the demand will be ridiculously high and to make things even worse, most people will aim for the 256 since 64 is way too small. Combine that with only one size and two colours and the disaster is inevitable.
I will do my best to get on the preorder queue at a decent place but I'm bracing for a ship date some time in early March so I won't be too disappointed. I also hope to have the opportunity to see some good quality reviews while I am waiting. If I don't like what I'm hearing, that makes the 8 Plus a strong option.
But if the reviews are good and it runs past mid March, well that is a bit ridiculous for a 2017 phone. I'd have to get a sense of when Apple is planning to release its 2018 model. If we are getting within a few months of a release of a refined version, at these prices it would be just too painful to sink so much money into something about to be obsolete so soon and about to lose value just as you're getting it. I would just hang on to my 7 Plus which is serving me quite well.
If its really the case that people had to wait 6 months for their iphone x i guess then apple will not realease iPhone's successor in 2018.
Sammy releases his phones in April so sammy might try make something better or same like X and will cost less purposely, March 2018 fulfillment would be a big mistake by apple. If Apple can't fufill orders past March 2018, that's not a good launch and would be failing by some expectations of when iPhone customers should be receiving their orders for those who pre-ordered. I would assume production should have some substantial numbers for launch day. But we will find out come November 3.
I agree with this sentiment, it sounds the most reasonable as to what may occur. With an already long delay to accumulate some decent readily available stock, it well sell fast just like it always does, but in no way could we assume Apple is gonna let such a hugely anticipated release slip anywhere near the middle of the cycle. They're gonna want you to have this early enough to where you feel you'd wanna upgrade it again in 2018, not feel like you just got it.Lets face it, Apple wants to sell as many as they can prior to year end. I am guessing that if you get orders in during the first 15 minutes you should get in 1st wave of shipments. After that, will slip to 4 weeks before going to 6-8. Year end is huge...
As some others have said, I believe the pushed back release of the X will give them time to build up supply.
Seriously. Due to iPhone being a much higher priority than a MP, the wait sure couldn’t be as long as a cto option. I think I waited nearly 6 months. You know, I actuallly had a lot of fun on the forums waiting for the MP oddly enough.Yea I think it will be like getting a jet black last year, or a cto Mac pro back in 2013 like up to 12 weeks maybe but not longer, no way.

I'm on yearly upgrade program, if we get too far into next year, I might as well pay off the phone I have and start over with the X. So there will be a break point, I just don't know what that is yet. I waited a LONG time for my airpods.
September 30th, 2018All evidence points to the iPhone X having the worst availability of any iPhone ever.
First, we have record high levels of demand:
Second, we have extremely low levels of supply:
- An unprecedented 55 launch countries (ie hundreds of millions more potential buyers than any other launch in iPhone history)
- Very little demand for the iPhone 8 (ie everyone is waiting for the iPhone X)
- The first major redesign of the iPhone since the iPhone 6 (ie everyone is looking for a new form)
- The redesign was expected (ie everyone knew that the tenth anniversary iPhone would be different, and therefore many people have held off on upgrading -- huge pent-up demand)
As a result, delivery times are likely to slip to 2018 within seconds of orders opening on October 27.
- Reports of a mere 10,000 units/day
- Reports that supply will not meet demand until sometime in the first half of 2018
- Low yield for OLED panels (ie it is difficult to ramp up production)
What delivery date will cause you to give up and skip the iPhone X in favour of its successor?
For me, it is March 12, 2018 because that is half way through the product cycle (6 months from September 12, 2017). By then, we should be getting an idea of what the iPhone X's successor will look like.
How about you?
They got theirs already, had em for over six months now.okay Tim (or Phil), we get the picture...
ThisI know this doesn't answer your question, but I think that the availability issues are probably being overstated. If delivery dates end up 6 months back within the first hours of pre-orders, It shouldn't have been launched this year.
