Name and address. And glad I did it. Not looking at it as a financial investment with future trade-in value like a car. I keep these things forever or until they die.

I guess it depends. My iPad 1 I sold on CL didn't have engravings, but it was in a full body case and no one really seemed to care if it were to have engravings since I was never asked about that. I guess b/c it was a generation old and with a case all its life people didn't really care. Nor was it checked for. Easy sale =)

I'm sure if it did you would have it listed, just as a warning. When I sell stuff I'm as honest as it gets, because I know if I were to buy something used I wouldn't want any surprises when I received the item.

Do you think the Chinese workers will sabotage my ipad if I engrave:

"Made in USA"?

Edit: correspondingly if I engrave a pro-China message will I get 32gb packaged in a 16gb shell?

Anyone try it?

I never even considered engraving in the midst of frustration at the Apple Store issues on Wednesday. I wouldn't have anyway because of the risk of it meaning my iPad was delayed.

However, should I have engraved it, it would most likely have been a quote from Steve Jobs or something intellectual.

Or maybe "iPad (4th generation) prototype. Do not remove from 1 Infinite Loop."

perfect your life,
beautify all things in your life

See the movie, it means a lot more esp if you think of Steve Jobs as another example

I had my last name as well :D

I was considering writing
