It is not "normal" either!![]()
Seriously? Giving your device a custom name isn't that weird, my man.
Judging by the evidence in the thread I'd say it's completely normal.
This phenomenon isn't exactly limited to Apple customers. Visit an overclocking forum and you'd see a bunch of funky names for non-Apple computers, smartphones and tablets, too. It's threads like this that make me significantly more empathetic towards people who see loyal Apple customers as ****ing Kool-Aid chugging, loons. What did you name your phone? Seriously?
Yeah, if your 5.

Don Keedix.
More poor judgement on your part!
Prepare for ridiculousness.
All of my apple devices get names from A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones, for people who have seen the show but haven't read the books). My wifi is Winternet is Coming. My macbook air is Winterfell. My airport extreme is Ice. My last iPhone was Nymeria (silver iPhone 5). My Apple TV is The Night's Watch. But this phone, the 6+ in space grey, is Balerion the Black Dread.
I know I have a problem.

Lol, true. We use a single iCloud account for Find My iPhone since we tend to misplace our devices often on a daily basis (usually between couch cushions). Kinda hard to find which device is which if they're all named iPhone and iPad.There's a "name" field next to your iPhone in iTunes. Many of us fill it in. I asked what people filled it in with. Reading some big psychological message into that? Kinda says more about you than it does about us.
