How do you pronounce OS X.

  • OS 'TEN'

    Votes: 68 51.1%
  • OS 'X'

    Votes: 65 48.9%

  • Total voters
    133
And what if,, for the 17th time I was telling you how the OS says it, perhaps it has an opinion...:D

I wouldn't care. That wasn't the question. I guess we're on 18 now....

The OS doesn't say it, it prints it, so to "speak". And the OP wasn't asking about the OS, but the other members here.

Mod Note:

There was an issue with the original poll where by it was set to close automatically after 3 days. This caused the poll to close so the OP created a new poll. As both of these were on the same subject and it was just a technical error in setting up the poll I have merged the two threads together. A side effect of this is that those votes in the new poll were lost. The tallies were as follows:

11 votes for Ten
12 votes for X

The people who voted in the new poll and didn't vote in the original poll should be able to vote in this poll so please feel free to vote again so that you vote is counted in the overall tally in this thread.

Hint: If you want the poll to remain open forever set the Poll Timeout option to 0.

It might take some extensive work, but surely we can come up with something even sillier to argue about, right?

Let's make a new poll:

Do you pronounce "OS X" correctly, or incorrectly?

And what other words do you pronounce incorrectly on purpose?

Gotta remove "other" from that question. 'X' is not a word.
Yes it is.
verb ( X’s, X’d, X’ing) [ trans. ]
mark or make a sign with an X.
• overwrite or obliterate with an X or series of X’s.
• make void or annul; invalidate : we’re all X-ing things out of our curricula.

I think we might have stumbled upon it. ;)

'X' is not a word.

Yes it is.

a, e, i, o, u, and sometimes y

Are there any two-consonant, no vowel words in English??
I can't quickly find anything definitive that says you must have a vowel to form a word. But, I was taught that in grammar school.
