So, According to God, even having lustful thoughts is considered Cheating, so thats where my stance is.
Well, first of all, that's "according to interpretations of scripture", and, secondly, that implies that everyone who isn't asexual commits adultery.

Which is unreasonable.

I read an article about it last year. I read a lot of stuff, and I can't remember where I read it, but it wasn't from some rogue blog or news site, I think I linked to it from my.yahoo, where I have rss feeds from rueters, ap, nyt, etc.

That doesn't sound like it constitutes a trend to me, reading one article about it online. Sounds like a guy's wish list.

So to summarize the real comments thus far:

if it is something that you would not do with/to a sibling or if it hurts the other person it is cheating?

I think that most people love their parents and siblings, and would be affectionate to them in a manner that, while not sexual at all, would be sufficiently grating on a significant other if was done to non-family members, of the opposite sex.

BJ's are for sure cheating...

I consider oral sex to be more intimate than "regular sex",
requires more trust and effort.

You could also rephrase my first comment to something along the lines of: If you are diverting emotional or physical resources away from your relationship and into a new encounter, you are cheating your relationship.

Then again, you could also rephrase my second comment:

Blanche = That is so cheating. I declare!
Rose = Back in St. Olaf, we'd call that cheating.
Sophia = Picture it...cheating.
Dorothy = You'd just be cheating yourself, Stan.

BJs are a feeding, they are not cheating. Would you think your girlfriend was cheating if she had a protein shake with someone?

I really hope you are joking.

And yes if I had a GF and she gave someone a BJ I would consider it cheating.
If I gave a guy a BJ then yes it would be cheating on a partner whether my partner be male or female.

FYI I am female.

No kissing above the neck.

there are many places below the neck...

i don't have a exact definition of cheating. but at the point of physical contact, it has already far past that point. i think cheating is somewhere close to the thought of allowing yourself even think seriously about doing "things*" with another person, or thinking to yourself that it's OK to do these "things". you don't technically even need to have the 3rd person to constitute to cheating.

*i think we don't need to discuss what these things are, it's kind of common sense.
