One question to the OP: How well do you know this girl? i.e. Are you guys friends, friends of a friend, besties, etc. Because that will change the way the first date hsould play out. I understand that you said that you guys text a lot, but what is it about? More personal things? Or, more like, how was work today etc.

I think that as long as you guys get along well, than how good or bad the place is won't change that. I mean sure, if you choose a good place it will look better but in the end it won't matter. Conversely, if you guys don't get along well then the best place in the world won't make the date much better. Just put a bit of effort in and I am sure this girl will appreciate it!

So, don't over think it; Have fun!

P.S. When you have the date tell us how it goes!

Be creative but not over the top. However by all means ask her to tell you about her. Women love the feeling that a Man is listening to her. Be attentive and don't push anything on her. let her control the conversation and play off that. Lastly don't try to be something you are not and smile a lot. Women love a Man that can make her laugh and she feels secure with. Be a Man but attentive to her whims on the first date. Have fun and she will have fun to.

Just random talking, she'll text "hey you, whats up?" or something similar and we will just chit chat back and forth a bit. We've partied a few times together, but I wouldn't consider myself to be in the friend zone by any means (obviously otherwise it would be a bit of a weird date).

I'll be sure to post up after Wednesday, I think it should go good as long as I don't over think it too much.

my dates usually begin with some sort of activity...cycling (not like tricycles..i mean actual road bikes), running, tennis, etc. Then some time on the beach. Some energy in the form of protein/carbs..aka food...and then either a bar for quick drinks or movie in the condo.

Date was canceled due to a legitimate excuse, we might hang out this weekend due to work schedules. Who knows though, I have been talking to another girl that I am interested in too.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I will reply back if anything interesting happens.

You might be lucky, I am 25 and still haven't found a match. I don't like Americans to tell the truth.

You just gotta chill a little dude.:)

(and stop defending that catastrophe of a "news" channel:p)

Their morning/afternoon segments need defending, they get all kinds of congressmen on from both sides, I wish more people watched it during that time instead of during comedy hour (4pm-+) because its actually pretty good most of the time.

Well, we're straying off topic, and I wouldn't want your "Date" thread to be thrown into PRSI (just another thing FNC would ruin:D), so I'll respond in the PRSI thread.

I have a weird feeling about someone cancelling a first date even if its for a legitimate reason. It pisses me off that I did a bunch of planning (**** I posted on here for ideas to impress).

I would move on dude. I have really never heard someone canceling a first date, even if the reason was legitimate. That is extremely shady.

Seems like she has no care in the world for you.

If I knew i couldnt keep a date, and I really was interested I would say..hey lets do something before the date or something, not just oh well maybe something this weekend.

you spend all your time planning and stuff and she just brushes you off. thats a sign. I would blow her off next time, then you two are even and see if something ever would happen down the road.

In the meanwhile, go do something about the second girl.

C'mon, it bothers you that she cancelled with a legitimate reason (according to ZA), but you advocate that he does the same thing just for spite.

Immature tit for tat interaction is the not the best way to get to know someone.

Zombie, I understand how this could bother you, but from what you have posted it sounds like you two already sort of know each other and communicate. Based on that I would interpret the unexpected legitimate change in plans a little differently than if it was a first date with someone you did not know at all. Don't overanalyze it, just see what happens.

Negative on the movie. The idea of the date is to spend time together and get to know each other. And you can't do that sitting in a dark room watching a movie. You can't talk during the movie or anything.

Dinner might work, but it's a bit predictable. Cooking-date is a pretty good idea actually.

This post kind of freaks me out if only for what appears to be repeated non-accidental capitalization of the word "man." Misogynistic shenanigans, I call them. :D

Forgive me this, but OH NOES 25! FIND WOMAN QUICK OR U TURN 2 DUST!
;)

The problem is really more that you're a **** ****er. Who ****s **** all day.

And what's wrong with that? No matter what FOX News might tell you, there's nothing inherently wrong with "****." Or ****ing ****. In fact, if you put out the right signals it's completely safe and can take you places you've never experienced before. Maybe not all day, as that would be counterproductive. You need to **** ***** sometimes too.

Admittedly in the UK it's somewhat safer and easier to **** **** than here in the US. And they've got practically a national institution where, if you're not familiar with it you could end up ****ing all day, though only in the American version would you end up ****ing ****.

What do I do on a date? Usually, count the minutes til it's over. Then I can go out and get laid. I hate dating.

When I fall in love, it's usually with someone I've met through friends and have known for a while.

Um, ****.

**** the **** in the ****.

/what?

I think Judges 3:22 said it best: "With such force that the haft went in after the blade into the wound, and was closed up with the abundance of fat. So that he did not draw out the dagger, but left it in his body as he had struck it in. And forthwith by the secret parts of nature the excrements of the belly came out."
