I hate that they cripple some of the OS features to charge a hell of a lot more for the server version. I also hate that their iLife suit cannot be used with an external DVD burner (well, not officially anyway). In general, all those practices that makes me feel like money always comes first (I know they're in the market to make money and all, but some little things are not that profitable (like the DVD issue), and are really annoying for the user).

Other than that, I'm in love with both the hardware and the software... even if they're not the cheapest things in the world, I really feel I've got my money's worth and more with everything Apple I own :).

EDIT: oh, yes about the previous poster: I HATE the Apple mouses (I don't own one, so no regrets though), but strangely, I love the one button in the PowerBook. It's so comfortable to use, and the control click doesn't annoy me at all, because I can do it with only the thumbs, and I don't have to worry about pressing the wrong button (wich happens a lot with other laptops... especially those horrible Toshiba multi-button ones). With the mouse it's another issue though, because I have a dedicated finger for each button ;).

Is that a windows app...? If so, what does it do...? Because I've never had any problems copying various forms of audio on my Macs...
It is an audio copying program for Windows that produces the best music files of any app when used in Secure Mode, using such plugins as LAME MP3 and OGG. If I was still on Windows, I would most definately be using it...

I am puzzled that I cannot link my Motorola cell phone with my Motorola processor based Macs!

To me that makes no sense.

1. My university sent me some software that is Windoze only, so I have to work on a lousy PC to finish the course.

My biggest peeve by far. In the EDU sector, there should be seamless compatibility.

In the consumer sector, "mainstream" programs need to be in both platforms. Saw a great offer on Costco.com for photo books. The company they are dealing with does not yet support the Mac, nor does it appear that they intend to.

Uhh, it's because it is a line-in and not a powered mic in like the PCs you are describing have. Line-ins are for powered devices like recievers. Therefore, any unpowered devices (your mic) won't work because there is no juice on the line. Many PCs actually have both line-in and powered mic in. The powered mic is usually the red one if color coded.

I know that now after I was wondering why it wasn't working and googling like no one's buisness. So, uhh, thanks for the heads up.

I can link my Sanyo perfectly. Do you have the usb cable? Do you have the Driver?

I don't like how my PowerBook is taking forever to make a disc image of a 3 gig DVD.
Blaarrrhhhhh.

It's been 6 hours.
That's the thing I like least about my PB, but that can be fixed with more ram (woo hoo!) or a dual 2.7 with 8 gigs of ram 1 TB hard drive space and dual 30" display.. (my DREAM system).

I can TOTALLY justify buying a dual 2.7 somehow! (I'll spend that $20k so good!)

Also, having to defrag. I kinda miss that from windows. it was fun to watch the graph progress. I don't get to watch that anymore. :(

And spell-check in safari has reminded me of how badly I spell. Damn you, Safari! I hate you!

that's it. One reason I don't like my Mac ( I just need more RAM) and two I just made up to feel like I contributed to the thread. :)

What I hate is that >sometimes< Apple thinks it knows whats better for you, and takes some features/other advanced stuff away "because they know better... (such as setting the cache size in safari for example... and lets not forget the one button mouse) "Because using one button is easier than using two"

Wow, great expectations! ;)

Ewww, I don't miss that at all. However, OS X does have progress bars, for you watching enjoyment! :p

Oh, I just love the automatic spell checker!

Well then, job well done!

1)I hate that Apple doesn't require software providers to write uninstallers and have one place in Mac OS where they would be kept.
2)I hate crippled Game support on Mac OS, I also hate that Open GL is so slow on Mac compared to Windows performance.
3)I hate that Mac OS cannot merge folders with deep trees, i.e. if you copy one folder over the other under the same name, subfolders of the original will be erased rather then their contents being merged with the new folder.
4)Inability to Control X folder and then copying it to another.
5)Incompatibility that Apple introduces with it's new OSes, video connectors, chip architecture and alienating developers. They introduced ACD connector - they should stick with it, have a decade of PowerPC architecture - they should stick with it etc.

I like their design - both OS and Hardware. I'm recent switcher - but apart from cuteness of the OS and some nice to have features I don't feel as if I gained much. In any case they make nice products. :)

Oh man! os x progress bars are AWESOME! I love the little wave thing that goes in them.. I dunno what it's called, but.. whoever designed the progress bar to look awesome.. I need to buy them dinner. I LOVE IT!

windows progress bars... sometimes they went so slowly I couldn't decide if it had frozen or was just slow.. on mac, I know it's still going if it has the wavey rivery looking thing.

I'm amused by the smallest things.. :)

i often feel it's quite slow, but then again it's an emac :p it's great for daily stuff like internet, office, music listening, and os x chess :D but when working with photos, videos or even basic 3d games, it just screams for more power...

no steam or any steam games...half life 2!!

loud as ****...once again, emac

sometimes the dock pisses me off when i cant seem to open 2 things in a row

I think it is simply called a wave, because of the whole Aqua interface thing.

yeah, I hate Windows progress bars for the same reasons you said.

Really? That sucks. I have this theory that whenever Apple finds they have accidentally hired a poor developer, he gets shifted to the Finder team.

motorola phones..

You can plug the usb cord in and then open iSync and it will do that, but you cant take photos off or put music on or anything..

On windoze you can.

hmmm what I hate about my mac is the fact that my Ti-Pb ran away (read got stolen) ok I got the G5 now... wich is great but I miss surfing from the couch, checking e-mail in my bed when the alarm clock goes in the morning, so if there are no urgent messages from clients, I can turn over for a few more minutes :p

So what do I hate about mac: that I can't afford to buy a new i or PowerBook right now :p

Hmm, well I've tried that before. Is it finally working? Last time I tried was about a year ago.

I have a Motorola i90c and I've never been able to get it to sync. For some reason the iDEN phones haven't been supported. I'd love it if they finally are.

What I don't like about being a Mac user is primarily not having access to software that only works on "Windoze". I collect music in oddball formats - more often than not, I have to use Windows to play them at all or play them correctly.

I've been a mac user for ever pretty much. So i dont have any reliance on windows apps etc.

Never had a problem finding an app to do a job under mac os, more recently with mac os X I've been finding more and more freeware apps, infact, on my powerbook i only have photoshop and a few games that were commercial :D

Same with the hardware, more often than not anything i do need, i just plug it in and off it goes.

If theres one thing I'm not too fussed about, it would be the price. But then, for the general quality of the products, software and hardware, it's more than worth it imo :)

I dislike the fact that my PM G4 doesn't automatically switch the output source when I plug in my headphones. No complaints otherwise.

I have not one bad thing to say about my iMac, which I am about to sell to my former employer as I am leaving. An awesome machine.

I don't like the display on my iBook, but for $950.00, it's fine.

Otherwise, I love all my Macs! :D

The two things I hate about my iBook is the fact that it gets boiling hot whenever I do... well... anything. That and the lack of MS Money. I have to use Quicken. Now Quicken for Windows was bad, but Quicken for the Mac is HORRID.

One of these days I gotta find a better program for managing my money.
