Really? That sucks. I have this theory that whenever Apple finds they have accidentally hired a poor developer, he gets shifted to the Finder team.

I'm beginning to think that too.

Worst thing about the Mac is the Finder. It's...ugh. There's some things that just annoy me every time I have to use it (Get Info defaults and Replace vs Merging of folders are two of them).

I also listen to music in "exotic" formats, so iTunes' total dominance is not something I like. (I'm sure many will disagree with me ;)) Good thing those Adium and Growl devs seem to be up to something :)

ever tried to do this from VPC?? I know VPC is slow... but it acts like a PIII 600mhz on my G5... wich schould be sufficient to run your prog...

I have VPC the version that came before the current version. and it runs about as fast as the PII i use. But again I run into the serial problem. Though there are a number of sites I have read that people have used VPC with a serial to USB adapter with my same GPS unit. I have been meaning to get a serial to USB adapter to try it out, but then i realize that I am running out of disk space and would not be able to load the 3GB worth of maps onto my PB w/o running out of disk space! one thing leads to another leads to another!

also i really hate in iPhoto when you are browsing through pictures and you hit the delete key, it actually deletes the picture! (or at least puts it in the trash) I am so used to browsing with safari (or most any other web browser) and you hit the delete key and it takes you to the previous page. so i inadvertantly do this in iPhoto when I want the previous page and end up deleteing my pics!!! (then running to the trash to recover them :-/ )

The only thing I hate is when it doesn't "just work." The only time that has happened to me is with trying to put a microphone straight into the line-in port and it not working. PCs have it work like that, why can't I?

The Line in only works if you have a self powered microphone....(or so I've heard)

The things I hate about my Powerbook.

1) It gets hot real quick.
2) It use to run really quiet, but now I can hear the hard drive and other noises when its running.
3) The battery is on its way out and I can't afford a new one.
4) 1.33Ghz isn't fast enough anymore....need Powermac
