What do you mainly use your iPhone for?

Calls/texting with the occasional app. I think app and browsing the internet should have been broken out, as they're two distinct and different activities. Playing Crossy Road vs. browsing your local news site on safari are completely different - just my $.02. With that said, I hardly use my phone for web browsing.

I use my iPhone for a lot of different things, txting, phone calls, web browsing, taking photos, music player (I have Apple Music) and apps. I have to say my iPhone is the device I use the most and apart from the Apple a Watch it's the device I carry with me most of the time (with the exception of swimming and taking a shower/bath). I'm highly looking forward to the iPhone 7 when it's announced in September.

Really, my IPhone 6+ is my primary computer. I use it constantly to read business and personal email, make phone calls, manage investments, do banking, peruse newspapers (I am a news junkie), send the occasional text, and store files that I will need when away from home (why I went with the 128G model.) For my hobby pursuits, and for some of my consulting work where I need to use a VPN, I have a Note 5 that I use a bit, but not nearly so much as the IPhone. I need several programs that only run on Android and that keeps me from being 100% Apple.

With the IPhone, I now regularly travel without a laptop on many trips but I do add a tablet when I think I might have some heavier writing requirements. I am an old guy so I still regularly marvel at the fact that I am carrying so much computing power in my pocket.

My macbook Air is called upon for large spreadsheets, lengthy writing and editing, etc.

Daily usage:

- Phone calls
- Texting \ Messaging
- a bit of web browsing (including dedicate websites apps)
- Weather
- Lists

Plus few more apps that im using rarely when needed…

It really is my personal computer.

For work, I do emails, teleconferences and light word processing on my phone.

On my own time, I game, watch videos, surf the web, shoot photos and videos, etc.

Between my work laptop and my 6s+, I don't really use any other devices on a daily basis.

* Keeping in touch with people - texting, calling, social media apps like FB, Twitter, WhatsApp, Line, etc. (the most important aspect of the phone imo)
* Listening to music (the most used app in terms of hours spent. Thank goodness Music app doesn't consume battery much)
* Reading news (movie industry news, car news, general news, forums like MacRumors, etc)
* Work-related apps (cloud storage apps, word-processing app, PDF, scanning documents, etc)
* Weather (I'm sensitive about what I wear and my car, so I check weather multiple times each day)
* Movie streaming apps (Mubi, Fandor, Shomi, YouTube, etc)
* Guitar tab reader
* Reading books (I use iBouquiniste)
* Reading emails.
* Calendar app and date-based Reminders
* Shopping (imagine going back in time to 10 years ago to tell people that we will be doing shopping on the phone....)

Photos, social media and texting for me!

I use my phone primarily to look stuff up when working on a project. Whether it be looking up optimal camera settings for a shot I've never taken, building something and needing to know exactly which screw I need to use, or fixing a friends car. I am no expert on anything, but Google/duckduckgo has helped me immensely when DIYing. But whenever I'm not messing with something, I'll watch youtube videos or look at instagram/twitter. Everything else I primarily do on my apple watch, such as checking the weather or making a reminder.

Actually, not much. We don't have cell service at home so I never got into the habit of using it.

I do call from it through my car.
Sometimes messaging with my sister but she's not a big messaging fan.
It's set up to deliver news notifications to my watch, as well as a morning weather forecast.
It's basically there for emergency calling.

You are definitely right when you mentioned 'It is basically there for emergency calling'.

Social media, managing finances, food tracking, fitness tracking, texting, email, watching and reading tech blogs and information.

to correct somebody on the internet, coz, you know, it's important that the internet tells the truth.

Cellphones is a privilege for my nephews and nieces.
No matter how expensive it is, it can be destroyed as fast as it can be answered by our parents.
Respect on the table, and during SOCIAL GATHERINGS. We learned.
Is it a necessity, yes. Is it a need, yes. Is it a want, no. Do we have to abuse it, no.

How does this relate to the topic of the thread? I'm confused.....
