I have a 2006 Civic EX coupe. I've had it since December of 2006. I ADORE it! I tested the Mazda 3, Chevy Colbalt, and a few others but I LOVED the Civic's unique style and awesome dashboard. I would 100% recommend the Civic. It is a very quality car. :D

You are speaking to some one from the UK you don't need to explain global geography ;) :D

OMG, thank god we don't have those over here.

I have one too. It's a pretty car and great value for money. In Australia we get the Thailand made ones which are excempt from import duty. It is so good on petrol too, very economical.
Its refined, zippy, roomy has a great dash, four doors a boot, cruse control. My hubby says all honda engines need to be revved to be enjoyed and he wants a type R civic

The Type R (see picture above)was designed and built by Honda UK which may explain why you don't get them in the US. They have just come to Aus and there is a long waiting list. I doubt if they will come to the US as like the UK we have right hand drive. My husband was told they can't make enough for Europe so to be prepared for a long wait.

It has amazing styling and my hubby test drove one and said it handles beutifully and has a great engine

What do you think of Honda Civic sedan?? is a question you really should've asked prior to buying. ;)

We Brit's (And Europeans) love our hatchbacks. Virtually all Ford Focus', Mazda 3's, Honda Civic's and Renault Megane's are the hatchback versions. Haven't actually seen a new Focus in the saloon 4dr version at all.

I really think most Americans purchase cars with the mindset of: MORE £/$ = bigger car. They shouldn't really be proportional!

I drive a 1ltr '06 Toyota Aygo and that's more than enough for me, fuel cunsumption is amazing and thats a good thing whilst our petrol prices are £1.06 a litre.
I'm 21 and having a new car seems extravagant to me. Am I going crazy or do all American kids have ridiculously large, new cars!? Do they buy them or what? Surely they wouldn't get credit at like 17/18? madness!

If I lived in the US I'd definitely have the 4dr Toyota Yaris, looks well nice. Nice Civic though. I love the funny looking boot/trunk.

Oh yeah, for sure, but that's the price of beauty ...
It also has a 'practical' reason for being there too as it allows a sharp change in the rear glass which keeps both the looks of the car and allows a ridiculously large boot. The fuel tank is under the front seat like in the Jazz so the boot is deep, I could stand a tumble drier in the boot easily. The spoiler doesn't obscure the rear view anywhere near as much as you think it's going to, but the c-pillars do.

I had the 1.8lt petrol, great car to drive and it even has a decent exhaust note once the VTEC engines works it's magic up the rev-range.

In my opinion, Honda's are always a great choice for cars. My boyfriend has his dad's 88 honda civic, and it looks like a piece of crap, but it's still running well and has only given him minor problems. Plus they're much cheaper to fix (here anyways) and easy to find.

I'll probably be getting a Honda for my first car. Enjoy!

Can't go wrong with a Honda for the money...I drive a 2005 Accord Coupe, it's slick! I hope to have it paid off in the next few months and then drive it until it dies. :)

Well, if I were Jeremy Clarkson I'd say that a Honda is complete rubbish. "When it shifts it throws you through the windscreen!"

Top Gear aside, I think Honda's are great commuter cars ... as long as you aren't trying to get to work the fastest that is. :D

I also have a 2007 Civic Sedan (Canadian LX Model). I love my car... it has lots of get up and go for a car in it's class and the standard features are top notch. Just as an aside, the new 2008 EX (in Canada) has an optinal nav screen and leather interior... tut tut... a year too early :)

We have a 1997 Honda Civic with about 80K miles and it's given us minimal problems (knock on wood). It's been a good car for the money so far. Our next car will probably be a bit bigger since it's pretty tight in the back with the car seat. If we ever want another kid we'll need another one anyway since the doors don't close if there are two car seats in the back.

BTW... I'm American and don't need a geography lesson about Jordan either, but that may just be because I hang out with the right people. :D

Nice! I honestly am not a Honda fan really. I LOVE the new Nissan Altima Coupes. They are practically a lesser luxury and less power G37.

Also I am looking at my first car. I have a 1998 Honda Accord. My mom said i could do what ever i want with it. I really want to sell it and buy a 1990's luxury car. Like a Infiniti G20, or a Nissan Maxima (1999 SE). What are some other good suggestions? Looking at less than $10,000 USD.

Made in Swindon, painted by me!
I worked at the plant 2001-02 when it was being expanded to add on the new production line for the Civic. I did all the paint equipment, so every non-American Honda Civic is painted by me!

Got shed loads of overtime, it paid for my wedding!

the civic is the most stolen car in america so its better you not get it
I hope there was some intended sarcasm there. ;) It's true, but only due to the sheer number of them out there.

I learned to drive in a mid-2000's Civic coupe, nice car, unfortunately most American compacts (Civic, Corolla, Sentra, etc) have too little leg room on the driver's side for me. Don't even ask me to FIT into a pre-2001 model! Ford is the exception: the Focus is really comfy and roomy... just too bad it's a piece of **** car (I hear the newer models are better, but the older ones I could have afforded have lots of bad problems).

My friend has a 2006 Civic hybrid sedan. Definitely nice (cool dashboard), though it has a few weird problems of its own, and the trunk space is almost non-existent, but that's probably not something you're caring about much if you're buying one...

Nice car! I'm a big Honda fan, they're quite dependable, valuable, and just have rather good performance overall. My stepdad has a 2006 Honda Civic Coupe EX model. He got a very good deal on it because he had a trade in and they were also buying my mom's 2006 Honda Fit. It is a very smooth drive, quite comfortable, and has a great interior design. Outside's pretty nice but i'm not the greatest fan of it. The drive is quiet but can pack a punch and has all the perks of a more luxurious cars like a moonroof, etc.

The Civics a fun to drive and an excellent car, but i still prefer my mom's Fit.. It's a more tight, sporty drive :p

My mum has a Civic Type R hatchback and I love it. Compared to my MINI it feels so light and handles like a dream, not to mention the dash makes me think I'm piloting some futuristic spaceship. It's not slow either; Dad got it up to 130MPH down the M6 at three in the morning whereas my MINI only got to 110 down the same stretch.

It's a shame I haven't had half the fun in either of those cars compared to a Zetec Focus and Jeep Cherokee. Yeah, my family has a diverse taste in cars.

I would vouch for the G20 (hence my screen name). Any one from 1998-2001 is good. 1996 with low miles are hard to find, but good as well.
