is there any reason to think that within a month of the watch being out all the colors of the rainbow won't be available from the aftermarket?

I really dig it, since I already ordered a sport, its a little meaningless, but i still like them. I wonder if they will release more variants of different bands, like a dark version of the Milanese loop and maybe a $5,000 gold link

If it's offered in later generations, I'm sure I'd opt for the space black stainless steel Apple Watch with the matching black Milanese loop.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple announces a (PRODUCT) RED version of the sports band later this year.

Next up, Apple should market the watch to match sports team jersey.

I will take Black and gold.
Black and Gold? — they already have this... unfortunately prices start at $10,000

Dang I really wanted a red band but had to get Edition to get red!

For Blue I ordered a leather loop.

Until a better pic comes out, I can't give an honest opinion. Judging from just the washed out picture, the shades of colors are odd choices, particularly the ones on top.

beautiful!

they look truly amazing but i am sure these are all edition bands due to the gold pin they seem to have. too bad :/

I don't really care for any of the skin tone colours, but depending on how the Sport band feels to wear, I'd definitely consider buying a red one and the navy blue second from the bottom. They look great.

You show just 5 colors of straps to the public to select from. (more colors are already planned/made at this point, but you are keeping this secret from customers)

2 million loyal customers pick from one of these 5 colors.

Before customers have even received their watch due to your poor manufacturing and distribution methods that was totally deliberatly planned to be this way.....

You then show off a far wider selection of colors customers can then buy for an additional $50 each.

Nice one Apple. Really nice way to treat your most loyal customers.

This isn't like a phone or an iPad. Where you introduce it, and simply say these are the accessories. It really just is a high price toy or fashion accessory. So Apple is marketing it as such.

One of the things you do in that case, is slowly roll out everything you can get for it. To build excitement. I expect Apple to slowly release different bands, different colors over the next year.

(And don't expect these bands to work on the next watch. I expect them to come up with a slightly different way of the bands being swapped on the next watch. Forcing you to buy a different watch, and a new set of bands each year.)

The more the better I say. Apple should introduce an even larger range of straps for the  Watch than they already have, and they will. Nothing wrong with having as much choice as possible.

I don't think they are about to drop new bands within weeks of us getting ours and I don't think there's anything wrong with them showing off what could come in the future either.

I think the watch itself is for the tech lover in us. The bands are for the fashion side (so not me then :D) and that, to me, is exactly how Apple is pitching it.

Oh wtf?! Haven't heard about this. So I bought a white band that I didn't want because it was the least offensive of the other revolting colours that I didn't want. And now there are other choices? Gutted, I would have been delighted with dark blue instead of the foul bright blue they insist on offering.

OK I'm calmer now. Yes it's all about the watch and not the strap (although it's still £40 of my hard earned cash) but even so. I detest the usual range of colours. My 3 year old loves them. I'm not 3.

I understand you totally, I also bought the black one because it was more traditional.

Great catch, I didn't see that. Now they are not only limited and unofficial, they also come with a great price tag

Well.. There's still hope

I think it was a dumb move releasing the bogus colors they released, and then showing more colors that aren't available to the public. All of this before people receive their orders.
