So i dont have to buy a new licence for
Quickbooks
Web Easy 8
and some PC games

Gaming in bootcamp and several VMs running IBM WebSphere stuff for work.

That's all.

I use windows 7 for dvdfab, great program :D

+1

It's one of the main reasons I keep windows on my MBP; there is no easier, better program to make a backup copy of your purchased DVDs. When I first got my MBP, I was very disappointed there was no Mac equivalent, but now I boot into DVDFab via Fusion and it works great!

I have Windows 7 on both my 27" iMac and 15" Macbook Pro and I use them both only for games that won't run on OS X. The rare occasion does come along every once in a while where I'll need to download an application that only works with Windows however. I just don't get why people use Windows 7 for Adobe programs and Microsoft Office and stuff like that as they all have versions that work with OS X (better version IMO).

I don't mind Windows 7 but OS X is still a lot better.

Setup Windows 7 on bootcamp today so that I could play Rift on my macbook pro 15"

:)

Cheers

Office is a Windows product, used to the UI, fast performance, work uses windows.

Adobe programs... I can see photoshop and illustrator working nicely on a mac, but for other programs like flash, Premiere, AFter Effects may have better performance on a Windows.

Hey guys, I installed Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro last night and I became curious to find out what you guys use Windows 7 for.

For me, my primary thing is gaming with PC only games. Not all games since I have an Xbox 360 to handle that.

Also, you're more than welcome to recommend programs you use on Windows 7.

Quicken 2011 for me. Until and unless Quicken for Mac achieves feature parity, I'll stick with the Windows version.

PC gaming, anydvd/clonedvd, and some other pc software I already have licenses for so even if a Mac version of the same software exists I don't want to rebuy it.

I use it for my stock trading platform and my real estate MLS. Other than that, I'm always on the OS X side.

Quickbooks
Visual Studio 2008
SQL Server Express
SQL Server Enterprise Manager
MS Visio
MS Project

Basically any real world work types of stuff. Play WoW in OS X since the i7/6750 is fast enough to play without needing the extra speed of Windows 7.

Everything, I don't even use OS X anymore because Windows 7 is faster on just about everything

I have a MBP and run Windows 7 almost exclusively. It actually seems to be snappier than OS X. I have 8gb ram and 7200rpm hard drive, btw. One might ask "why have a mac then?" - and I would answer that I just like being able to run both OS X and Windows 7 if I want to. Also, the hardware is top quality and looks great.

I have a Windows 7 disc left over from a PC build for a client... I use it as a coaster so my desk doesn't get wet.

I use to have win7 on the MBP just to show people who want to buy their first Mac that its "OK", after they all changed to Mac I removed the partition =)

I would imagine people install it for games but I have a PC for that :)
