I originally bought my first iPad to be a reader. I found that it offered so much more than just a reader in a good form factor, so I chose it over a Kindle or Nook. Outside of reading, I use it to surf the web, play games, watch video or a movie, social media. It either stays home and gets evening/weekend use or comes with me on travel.
My 6+ is my phone and for outside the house. It's my car music player, my camera, my GPS system. Through an app, I'm using it for work emails, calendar, and contacts, after ditching the corp BB. I only use it for the social media, web surfing, or games when I want to kill some time while out and waiting. If I'm into a particularly good book, I may read some pages while on-the-go, but I prefer my iPad for that.
My Macbook Pro used to get a lot of time with my previous employment, but now it gets time divided with my desktop. I need to do some rearranging and reconfiguring in the home office so I can use it a little more often.
