I'd rather have something like SwipeSelect, which would be just a lot more fluid

I like the idea but I would prefer keyboard shortcuts like shift-arrow or cmd-c/v. I see some potential conflicts with swipe like tap-and-hold a key for alternative characters or so.

I really like the f.lux idea. And I don't want to jailbreak just cuz I want things to work.

I like the look of iOS 7 a lot. And when I see people with iOS 6 I am ashamed for them. And if I'm at school and I see it I will go up to these people I hae never met before and tell them to update...

Please go see a doctor, you have serious problem. If someone prefer iOS 6, let them be

That 2007 UI is far better than any modern "FLAT" UI.

This is actually the 2007 UI, before icons could be moved and before you could set a wallpaper

I disagree. I only consider wood, leather, and green felt classy in nice houses.

TBH, all the extreme skeumorphism came about around iOS 4 when the original iPad was released and lasted until version 6. Before that (iOS 3-below), the OS design had a better balance in term of UI design. While iOS 6 went too far with the skeumorphism, iOS 7 went too far with minimalism.

I hope future releases strike a better balance and create something that is more uniquely Apple.

Wait... what do I want? I want people to appreciate what they have NOW a bit more, instead of being so easily distracted by "latest, greatest". Enjoy what you HAVE, instead of dismissing it for what is to come.

Relax, and appreciate the here and now - we are so blessed to have nothing much more to think about than which gadget or OS is coming up (seriously, that is a massive blessing - some people have life threatening decisions to make, daily). I'll think about iOS 8 when it's announced and demo'd.

I think iOS is on the right path. To me, it honestly feels like 7.1 is the best they've done. Top to bottom. I love it.

What I'd like to see from here? A new pulldown notification system. Learn from Android, that makes sense. Right now it's kinda worthless. Having a giant list of notifications that have to be manually closed even after I've opened the app delivering them is annoying, and it'd be nice if apps that stay persistently open (chat, music) would have an entry up there. Again, think Android.

Combine the "all" and "missed" into one, combine all notifications for a given app, and have them go away once the app has been opened and we'll be good to go.

The Music app is still screwed up. Hopefully by separating iTunes Radio from the Music app, that will give both apps the opportunity to be really efficient and functional.

Haven't read other replies, I just want:

1) Custom Keyboards that can be obtained on the App Store/iTunes and used throughout the device.
2) Let us delete built-in-applications or at least hide all of them instead of just the restrict-able ones.
3) Let us set default browser.
4) Let us have custom themes, only available through the App Store/iTunes.
5) Maybe tone down a bit on the white/flat theme that looks a bit bland.
6) Widgets, customizable notification center and lockscreen.
7) Allow developers to use transparency in icons so it isn't always that wanna-be square shape.

Pretty much the same list as last time.

edit:

Oh yes and also make iOS 8 iPad version feel as if it is built for a tablet and not just an enlarged phone.

If we had that attitude we wouldn't have our smart phones and tablets. WE WANT MOAR.

forward delete button please and thank you

Let me at least customize window colors, text bubble colors. This is 2013. It’s not going to kill your fantastic A8 chip.

Home screen in landscape mode (iphone)

Let me choose another font for messages

It maybe 2013 where you are but most of us are in 2014

I'd also like the ability to be able to configure different repeat alerts from contacts thru text and iMessage.

So repeat iMessage tone three times for work related texts and say two for people I'd call acquaintances.

Uncrippled bluetooth is a must. I won't be buying another iPhone until this happens. It should have been in iOS 1 never mind iOS 8.

And if you came up to me I would tell you to stick your iOS 7 where the sun don't shine (or other equivalent profane words).

Worry about your own life and choices.

Where do you see wood, leather or felt on that picture?

Good post!

Widgets would be nice, or something like how Windows 8 does its live tiles. Having a more functional home screen other than a bunch of icons would be awesome. Apple should have done that a long, long time ago. Now I'm rocking a Dell Venue Pro 8 for my tablet needs and my iPad is collecting dust.

Well all the home screen really needs to do is be a bunch of icons. Widgets would be cool but I don't I really need/ want them

1. Be able to type a question to Siri and get a silent response.

2. Customization options for chat bubbles colors and color themes for system and system apps. Being able to change color options on the dynamic wallpaper would be really nice.

3. Timer option added to default camera. Maybe some more fun filters to play with.

4. The option for do not disturb to tie into your calendar. If I have a meeting on my calendar, do not disturb should auto kick in during that time frame.

5. Random changing wallpaper. Give you the option to control the change frequency. Maybe even use music artwork as wallpaper and have it change when album or song changes too.

6. Swipe added as an option for default keyboard.

7. Ability to airdrop more than just pictures to other users. Maybe be able to airdrop contact info. Capability to airdrop to and from Macs.
