OS X will be bigger than iOS this year at WWDC.

OS X 10.10 will see more coverage than iOS 8. Apple have pulled engineers off the iOS team to work on OS X 10.10.

Last year, it was in reverse, Apple pulled engineers off the OS X team to work on iOS 7.

Still, I'm looking forward to both!

But to your original question: QUICK REPLY!!!

They had already introduced a lot of security stuff in iOS 7 and I guess that a new health app won't be that groundbreaking. I guess it's more like iOS 5 over 4.

I agree with the last post. iOS 8 will be like iOS 5. Not really BIG it just introduces SOME new features but thats it. So I wouldn't be hoping for iOS 8 to be huge like iOS 7 was, cause if you do then you will be very disappointed.

But on the bright side: You have OS X 10.10 which hopefully will be a BIG update :D

I'm not sure where people get the idea that iOS 5 wasn't a large update. It was probably the most significant iOS update next to 2 (for the App Store inclusion) and 7. Notification Center, iMessage, OTA update support, the ability to set up a device without having to first connect it to iTunes, and, oh yeah, iCloud, which, in and of itself, was huge.

I would like to be able to arrange icons the way I want them to be, i.e., I may just want a few icons on the first home screen (maybe you have a nice wallpaper you want to be able to actually see).
I would like some sort of utility that would enable me to clear caches, or whatever that "Other" nonsense really is.

Agree, flexibility with arrangement would be welcomed.

I agree - I think iOS 5 was a much bigger update than 6 and 3. I think iOS 4 just edges it as multitasking was huge at the time.

I can listen to audio from 2 sources on my computer, why can't i do the same on at least my iPad? Let's see apple make it so iTunes Radio or anything you have playing in the music app can stay playing while you watch a video in Safari/Facebook/twitter

Oh, would love a quick reply function for mail / iMessage while they're at it...

They must add more network options (2g only, 3g only, 4g only and auto) so user could force use of certain network which helps in spotty areas a lot or when i want to save battery or make connection more stable.

Android devices have this functionality, even old nokia phones did.

Pretty sure a good part of that is more on carriers and their settings than it is on Apple.

I think carriers have little to do with this, there are hundreds (thousands?) carriers worlwide, at least some would have this functionality if it was an option. Have you ever seen it in non jailbroken devices? No, no iphone has such functionality. It's the way IOS is implemented.
Apple doesn't even allow carriers put their logo on Iphone.
So no, i'm pretty sure it's Apple who made these stupid limitations.

Errrr... You can do that (at least in iOS 7 am not sure whether or not it was possible in iOS 6)... My first page is totally empty because I have a real cool wallpaper... All apps are placed from second page onwards... When my page was jailbroken I had even removed the dock icons and had a clear transparent dock...

sure carriers have some control, there are carrier bundles/updates that get installed with some particular settings for them. They can't customize the phone or OS really but they do have some control over carrier/cellular/mobile related settings, like a 3G or 4G/LTE switch or something of that nature.

Carriers cant have control over what is not present in IOS. Like i said, there are no options (well, almost, see below) for independent network controls in iOS and carriers have nothing to do with it.

Ios allows only one option, it's either 3g off, or 4g off ( if carrier supports it) if carrier supports 4g after installing that bundle ( update) your 3g switch converts to 4g switch, because you can't have them both in IOS.

Carriers can control certain things, that's not to say that they can somehow porivide an option for more than what iOS supports, but they do have some control over some of the cellular settings that are available in iOS: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1970

So yes iOS can provide more settings perhaps, but the carriers can still have a choice as to whether those options would it wouldn't be available to the users on those carriers.

In any case, this is kind of going off topic at this point, so we can essentially just say that it's basically on both Apple and the carrier when it comes to more cellular/mobile options/settings.

Carriers can't control options that i was talking about and that i would like to have in IOS 8 because such options are not implemented in current IOS.
What does carriers have to do with that and why you keep bringing them up?

Such functionality is not supported in IOS and it's solely on Apple who developed it.

Based on Gurman's reports as of today, iOS 8 will be a disappointment in my opinion :/

Right, I see the point you were making. What I'm adding is that even with the options there provided by iOS the carriers have some ability to control which ones they would allow their customers to use. Anyway, seems like we can move on from this.

You won't be disappointed if you don't have any expectations from it :)

I think that the focus of this years event won't be iOS 8.0.

I'm usually disappointed, though the iMessage feature in iOS 5 was a great one.

If the focus isn't iOS 8 then what is it? OS X 10.10?

My only expectation is quick reply and there's no report of it... Perhaps it's a super well-kept secret feature that has not yet leaked tho.

I hope theres an always listening mode for siri, much like how google now voice activation works on the moto X.

Safari Push Notifications, as in Mavericks. Please. I MUST know right when MacRumors posts a new article about an iPhone mockup‽
