- Multiple User support for iPad/iPad Air, and iPad mini

- Ability to select third-party default applications (i.e. for e-mail, browsing, etc.)

- Support for third-party chat protocols in Messages (i.e. AIM, Yahoo, Gchat, Facebook)

- Wake-on-Alarm (device will boot for alarms; might not be feasible)

- Basic File Manager App for iPad/iPad Air, and iPad mini (technologically feasible, but unlikely for Apple to do this)

- Grand Central Dispatch for iOS (if not already present)

- iBooks App built-in as a stock app (to iPads if not to iPhones/iPod touches as well)

- iLife and iWork apps built in as stock apps

- Photobooth for iPhone/iPod touch

- LinkedIn Integration

- Dropbox Integration

- Decreased Sync times in iTunes

- Increased support/optimization for 64-bit ARM and the A7/M7 processors

- (bring back the) Tap-to-post-to-Facebook functionality that was introduced in the iOS 6 Notification Center and then dropped in iOS 7

- (speaking of Notificiation Center) Do away with the views in Notification Center; they add far more clutter than was ever necessary; at least have the "All" view be the default

I'd like to see a better keyboard or at least more keyboard options allowed. Numbers across the top would be sweet. Easier cursor placement too. A delete button would be good.

Better printer support without having to jump through hoops via apps running on your laptop, only certain printers, etc, etc.

Better email attachment management and usability.

Better wallpaper scaling and management.

Some different animation packages or themes to make the UI and workflows more customizable.

Maybe a few other small things but I actually like iOS 7 as is now.

iOS 8 the biggest update in history of iOS? iHouse..iwatch..iHealth

All of those things are huge and new...
A very different path that apple is going to take.
iOS 8 will be the biggest update ever...iOS 7 was the biggest design change ever but iOS 8 will be something completely different. Will be about..Health..Security..iwatch..and who knows what else.
Judging from their last 4 commercials on their youtube.. They are going to take a new approach while also keeping what's already good.

I agree with the last post. iOS 8 will be like iOS 5. Not really BIG it just introduces SOME new features but thats it. So I wouldn't be hoping for iOS 8 to be huge like iOS 7 was, cause if you do then you will be very disappointed.

But on the bright side: You have OS X 10.10 which hopefully will be a BIG update :D

iOS 5 was quite a large update really: Siri, Notification Center, few other nice things. I'd have said a bit more like iOS 5 -> 6. Whatever happens, always nice to have new stuff to play with!

Are you incapable of proper punctuation OP? iOS8 will just add on a few bits and pieces yet Apple will sell it as the best thing since sliced bread as always.

Those are all apps, not features. They all require add-ons to do anything. So no, this isn't the biggest update in the history of iOS because of those things.

Oh I'm sorry for not punctuating while I'm relaxed on a forum. Didn't realize I was right a eassy

1) Customizable Animated Wallpapers

2) Maps improvements

3) Deeper NC integration (I can choose things to put in NC like downloadable apps) so if the app has NC support for say "MyFitnessPal" it'll say "You have X calories left for today - a simpler form of a widget".

4) More customizable Control Centre and DND options.

That is all for now.

I think you're referring to iOS 6 which only brought Facebook and Maps...

iOS 5 was an amazing and very ambitious update, my personal favourite before 7.

iOS 5 was an amazing and very ambitious update, my personal favourite before 7.

iOS 6 introduced some great features and functions that were oddly removed from iOS 7: Rejecting calls from the lock screen as well as the Facebook and Twitter buttons in the Notification Center.

I would love for the weather and stock widgets in the lock screen to have a layout similar to iOS 6 where it's more visual instead of plain text.

I also hope the music app gets thoroughly refined and fixed to pre-iOS 7 functionality. Hopefully the now playing interface in the remote app is a taste of things to come with the design aspect.

I wish I could dump apps that I never have or will ever use. Nope, not going to happen. Apple still thinks its apps are best and deserve to be the default. That's not going to change either.

----------

Maybe Apple will try to pass obvious features as new like having quick transitions again or not needing to wait for stuff to stop moving.

----------

Or maybe Maps will finally be able to understand that I'm looking for a UPS on a street in a certain city. It would make sense that if I'm looking for a UPS while in Orange County California, I'm not looking for something in Canada.

----------

How about Maps understanding that I'm in a foreign country, and I'm using the English translation to a famous monument. Maybe Maps should do the translating instead of giving up and not finding anything.

I probably shouldn't mention the Music app. This might rile the rest of the people like me that want the old Album grouping behavior restored. We want the fools responsible for bringing that behavior from the iPad to the iPhone fired.

Replace having to integrate apps like Facebook or Twitter with any method used by other operating systems. Any method is better than having to wait for Apple to decide to integrate an app.
