What Do You Want to See From Apple in 2019?

In the What to Expect article that we shared yesterday, we covered everything we think we'll see from Apple in 2019 based both on historical release data and the current rumors that are circulating about the company's 2019 product plans.

A new modular Mac Pro is in the works, and 2019 may be the year that we finally get the AirPower. Apple has more than a dozen original TV shows, which are set to debut through an upcoming streaming TV service that's coming in early 2019. Three new iPhones are on the horizon, and we may see updated AirPods, a new HomePod, and perhaps Apple-branded over-the-ear headphones.

We're also expecting a new Apple Watch, updated versions of iOS and macOS with exciting new features, a refreshed iPad mini, and a redesigned lower-cost iPad, which could be 10 inches instead of 9.7. There's also a chance that Apple has some surprises in the works that we don't yet know about.

AR smart glasses, a virtual reality headset, an Apple Car, and autonomous driving software are all products Apple is rumored to be working on, with no official launch date known. We want to hear from the MacRumors community - what are you hoping to see Apple release in 2019?

Are there specific features you're hoping Apple will implement in iOS 13 or macOS 10.15? New AirPods and HomePod functions you're hoping for? Additions to the Mac and iPhone lineup?

Let us know what you want to see in the comments, and make sure to check out our What to Expect post for a look at the current rumors. Apple's 2019 product plans will become clearer in the early months of the year, and as always, we'll be covering every Apple rumor in depth here at MacRumors.

A new iMac design with thinner bezels and (at least) hex-Core hyperthreaded i7s.

An updated MacBook with lower price (like how they gradually lowered the MacBook Air prices).

The new Mac Pro with an Apple monitor!

1. A small iPhone (around about the size of the original one, with no extruding camera bezel).
2. A mid-range Mac desktop with easily upgradable RAM, HD and GPU.

[doublepost=1546413433][/doublepost]A Homepod with an Ethernet port.

Dark mode for iOS and a iPadOS that has most of macOS's pro features. Oh, and new Airpods with inductive charging case and hey siri support. A entry-level iPad with smart connector and a 12.9 inch screen would be nice as well.

Think different and sustain the SE, or at least size. And with more powerful battery.

The responses here have been terrible. Luckily for us, Apple doesn’t do R&D through internet message boards.

Amusingly, your own post is a "response" and therefore falls into the same category.

Unluckily for us, you are correct that Apple refuses to listen to its most loyal fan base and ignores message boards like this one. If Apple did put its ear to the ground and create something for The Rest of Us once again, the global Mac community (people of all age groups, and not just Millennials) would rejoice and start buying Macs in droves once again.

To praise the status quo at Cupertino is to say the single USB-C port on the MacBook is all anyone could ever need, that the butterfly keyboard feels good on anyone's hand, and that the lack of MagSafe will help us feel safer about our Mac investment. In other words, to close one's eyes and say what we have now is perfection is a recipe for disaster down the line, not for Apple as a company but for the Mac most of us still love and care about.

Steve Jobs was pretty accurate about knowing what most of us want. Apple today doesn't really care about what we want and is instead listening to the advice of Angela Ahrendts who has been doing her best to transform Apple into a luxury brand (e.g., solid gold Apple watches included) which puts significantly more priority on form over function, beauty over durability, longevity, upgradability and practicality.

To quote myself from the other new stuff in 2019-thread:
Nah, a lot of nice products on that list...but it would be very nice if Apple yet again came out with something new and exiting that I did not know I needed until I saw it. Like the iPod in 2001 (the mini in 2004, in my case), Apple TV and iPhone in 2007, and iPad in 2010. It's been a while now...

So, unless Apple really pulls something unexpected out of their sleeve, I want (and expect) to see some new, upgraded MacBook Pro, MacBook or MacBook Air that fits me (at the moment I think the Air is a bit overpriced compared to the Pro, and I never liked the rMB). Also, this fall I think it's time to upgrade my iPhone 7 plus to a smaller X/XS sized phone.

I agree, Apple should listen to its user base more. Especially since current Apple is not as good as Steve Jobs's Apple were at knowing what customers need and want.

And indeed, Apple is starting to turn into a luxury brand if one wants to buy the newest devices. Sure, you can buy a iPhone 7 pretty cheap but why would a nerd buy a 3 year old phone? In that case I think I'd rather switch to Android. Apple really has to tread carefully right now, their price point can scare loyal customers into Google's and Microsoft's welcoming embrace. Speaking for myself, if I were in need of a new computer today, I'd buy a Surface or Google Pixelbook. A new phone today? I'd go with OnePlus. That's a huge shift since I have only bought Apple since 2008 and have always seen them as a bit more expensive but worth it but now the price gap is so huge I have to reconsider if Apple is really that much better.

i want to see... apple hires louis rossmann as a technician consultant for their logic board design team as a headleader before apple manufacturing any of them

seriously... i want to see apple launching all existent features outside usa, before launching any new. .. actually, ehm... i was dead serious before - apple should hire louis rossmann.

Go back to the inverted-T arrow keys.
The full size arrow key buttons in the butterfly keyboards are garbage; not to mention the butterfly keys themselves
Just another painful example that Apple has gotten design priorities mixed up in recent years.

It is just about money now for Apple and their investors. Growing, more revenues, stock and so on... and for those on this forum who own stocks in Apple should be worried that people cant afford buying the products/or wont beccause of price/performance. instead of whining over that people actually tells the reasons that they dont buy products.
