I dunno about some of that stuff on this list..
Particularly around the idea, companies are "better" than anyone else.

And I dunno about some of the comments in this forum...

I clearly said MagSafe and you are transforming it into "companies vs. people"?! Talk about reality distortion!

Time to sober up after that New Year's party last night, I guess. LOL.

I defy you to match your bluetooth sound with something like a Sennheiser wired headphone.

Well, to be fair, Steve Jobs and his iPod -- along with XM Radio and later streaming services -- directly killed high fidelity music. I'm not sure most millennials even know what pure sound sounds like.

I want to see more HomeKit devices. Apple is way behind.
Apple doesn’t make HomeKit devices.

Lucky you. But that is anecdotal evidence at best and in worst case it's just repeating marketing phrases from the 1990s. I run an IT department at a research institute, and the statistics at my work place tell a slightly different story about the quality of Apple products and how often they have to be sent to the shop for repairs -- and in more cases than anybody at Apple would want to admit more than once to (still not) fix the very same problem.

The "superior" quality of Apple products in my experience only exists in their marketing campaigns. In the real world, they just assemble and sell the exact same parts that all other OEMs in the world use, the only two differences are the case around those parts and the operating system Apple runs on them.

At the end of all the marketing, Apple just sells designer PCs running a different proprietary operating system than the other OEMs.
Typical IT department head who hates macOS. Nothing new here.

In the What to Expect article that we shared yesterday, we covered everything we think we'll see from Apple in 2019 based both on historical release data and the current rumors that are circulating about the company's 2019 product plans.

A new modular Mac Pro is in the works, and 2019 may be the year that we finally get the AirPower. Apple has more than a dozen original TV shows, which are set to debut through an upcoming streaming TV service that's coming in early 2019. Three new iPhones are on the horizon, and we may see updated AirPods, a new HomePod, and perhaps Apple-branded over-the-ear headphones.

We're also expecting a new Apple Watch, updated versions of iOS and macOS with exciting new features, a refreshed iPad mini, and a redesigned lower-cost iPad, which could be 10 inches instead of 9.7. There's also a chance that Apple has some surprises in the works that we don't yet know about.

AR smart glasses, a virtual reality headset, an Apple Car, and autonomous driving software are all products Apple is rumored to be working on, with no official launch date known. We want to hear from the MacRumors community - what are you hoping to see Apple release in 2019?

Are there specific features you're hoping Apple will implement in iOS 13 or macOS 10.15? New AirPods and HomePod functions you're hoping for? Additions to the Mac and iPhone lineup?

Let us know what you want to see in the comments, and make sure to check out our What to Expect post for a look at the current rumors. Apple's 2019 product plans will become clearer in the early months of the year, and as always, we'll be covering every Apple rumor in depth here at MacRumors.

The MacRumors forums are also a rich resource for discussing upcoming products and rumors, and with so many product launches on the horizon for 2019, our forums are the place to be for lively discussions on what's coming.

Thank you to all of our readers and forum members for making MacRumors the absolute best source of Apple news, rumors, and advice on the web. We wouldn't be here without you, and we look forward to another rumor-filled year in 2019. Happy New Year!

How about yet another MacBook Pro "silent" update in 3 months? Let's just pissing off all customers who invest in these machines...

Better and lower prices,
Instead of going slimmer designs, longer lasting batteries
Siri with more functionalities
More innovative devices
Get rid of the S lines and just make better and long lasting phones. Stop this nonsense

Nothing. Every time we wish for something the price goes up and the feature bloat gets worse. Happy New Year.
It is so true, overtime this type of thread is created we all wish things but APPLE never listens to us. Same UI, minor design changes and lack of attention to Macs.... wonder how much an iPhone will be by 2025 $2000?

iOS dark mode. A “rugged” edition iPhone model that has a body design that meets military drop test specs without a case. 2nd gen iPhone XR with 120hz ProMotion display. iPhone X mini with aluminum back instead of glass so it will be light like the iPhone SE was. Entire Mac lineup with 120hz ProMotion displays (and the Mac mini gaining the power to handle a 4K monitor in “retina” mode while also having a 120hz refresh rate). Mac desktop line with cases that aren’t so tight that processors get throttled when they start generating heat. Return of MagSafe. Return of Cinema Display. All Mac displays to include Face ID. Return of Airport Express and Extreme. Return of Magic Mouse and keyboard that use rechargeable AA batteries.

An iMac design upgrade. Approximately similar size to current models, but with slimmer bezels and reduced chin. The current design is still quite nice, but it needs a refresh. Going out on a limb here, but hold the prices while upgrading the hardware. The way memory/storage prices have been dropping then the entire model range should be SSD starting at 512GB, but certainly with no less than 256GB. Bring back the keyboard with numeric keyboard as standard included-in-the-box.

No more 128GB base MacBooks. At current prices it is the height of absurdity. Should be at least 256GB to start. While we’re at it the prices for both MacBook Pro and Air are ridiculous by easily $300. And while I don’t care for it perhaps having touch screen capability at these prices might draw extra attention and customers.

A refreshed and affordable iPad Mini is needed. The current Mini 4 as is is ridiculous. The current standard iPad could be upgraded along similar lines as the iPad Pro while (please) holding prices. Being able to use a Magic Mouse with the iPads might be appreciated. An iOS more like Mac OS. The new Pros are nice, but the jump in price really stings.

(1) Better / more stable HomeKit
(2) Better Siri
(3) Better web-based services (i.e. iCloud Drive becoming more like Dropbox)
(4) Redesigned iOS (would like to see the spotlight/search feature be more robust and focus more on web search; revamped stock apps like mail - and maybe some decent mail searching?!; more live icons like the stock clock app that allows apps to display information on the icon rather than using badges)

It appears Apple finally went a step too far with $1200+ phones, although the financials for the next quarter will tell the story in numbers. They would rather make up for low volume with higher ASPs, but I don't think this path is sustainable and early sales/production reports for all the new iPhones indicate consumers may be getting fed up.

No, I don't suggest Apple gets into the $200 phone game, but they are pricing themselves out of the mainstream. A few years ago when they had $600 flagship phones and MacBook Airs for $1000 and entry-level Mac Minis for $500, they struck a good balance between maintaining a premium brand and prices that people outside the 1% could afford, but they're dangerously close to taking it too far.

A new iMac is necessary, it's the last of the Macs aside from the Mac Pro which could use a radical update.

Apple is curbing the slower growth of iPhones by practically raising prices across the board. It'll stick, people are paying for the products. Although the iPhone XR is apparently a slow moving inventory turd, the XS is doing fine.

Fairly simple and easy to provide requests from me:

• a 15" MBP with no touch bar
• MBPs and retina MBAs with the beautiful old keyboard, a USB-A slot or two, an SD card slot and MagSafe.

In short, I need an affordable laptop computer that relates to the world I operate in, not a bubble that assumes wifi connectivity that I cannot get where I live and work.
