As a goodwill gesture, I'd like to see this trillion dollar company pick ten Apple accounts
at random every year and give them free Apple hardware for life.

Oh, and an iPad Mini 5. I want that, too.

This is a weird one, but I would LOVE an iPod Classic that wifi synced my Apple Music library. The simplicity and distractionless experience is really missed.

And obviously iPhone SE 2. Apple used to be the driver of human interfaces and ergonomics - and they now ship massive loopy-scramble-icon designed phones with an operating system that forces icons to the top of the screen.

I would say it’s pretty sad, but the fact that we all still buy them may be even sadder.

Laptops with user upgradeable storage and ram. That's it. WTF is the point of selling laptops with less ram and/or storage than Chromebooks? Those laptops are literally junk. Steve said Apple isn't going to sell netbooks because how useless they are. You can't do anything with 128GB storage either when a single 4k movies is 50GB. There should be absolutely no reason why my phone has more storage than Apple's baseline (PRO) laptops. A reasonable baseline should be 500GB at the very least (SSD is cheap AF these days).

In the What to Expect article that we shared yesterday, we covered everything we think we'll see from Apple in 2019 based both on historical release data and the current rumors that are circulating about the company's 2019 product plans.

A new modular Mac Pro is in the works, and 2019 may be the year that we finally get the AirPower. Apple has more than a dozen original TV shows, which are set to debut through an upcoming streaming TV service that's coming in early 2019. Three new iPhones are on the horizon, and we may see updated AirPods, a new HomePod, and perhaps Apple-branded over-the-ear headphones.

We're also expecting a new Apple Watch, updated versions of iOS and macOS with exciting new features, a refreshed iPad mini, and a redesigned lower-cost iPad, which could be 10 inches instead of 9.7. There's also a chance that Apple has some surprises in the works that we don't yet know about.

AR smart glasses, a virtual reality headset, an Apple Car, and autonomous driving software are all products Apple is rumored to be working on, with no official launch date known. We want to hear from the MacRumors community - what are you hoping to see Apple release in 2019?

Are there specific features you're hoping Apple will implement in iOS 13 or macOS 10.15? New AirPods and HomePod functions you're hoping for? Additions to the Mac and iPhone lineup?

Let us know what you want to see in the comments, and make sure to check out our What to Expect post for a look at the current rumors. Apple's 2019 product plans will become clearer in the early months of the year, and as always, we'll be covering every Apple rumor in depth here at MacRumors.

The MacRumors forums are also a rich resource for discussing upcoming products and rumors, and with so many product launches on the horizon for 2019, our forums are the place to be for lively discussions on what's coming.

[doublepost=1546489551][/doublepost]Ho w about Apple finally has infrastructure that works with other things besides other apple products. If you want to automate your home, Apple is the most expensive least available product line out there, just for example

Skeuomorphism FTW!

Yeah, that‘s probably all he did

And of course, lousy updates and crappy testing is much more important.

There was a time when Apple was controlling their software quality and you would not have to tell your friends not to install that update right away. It was worse before and it‘s much worse now. For years now.

I‘ll gladly go with ugly design elements and stressed face expressions if that brings back software reliability.

[doublepost=1546515397][/doublepost]I want to see Nvidia support and the capability to finally allow us to use CUDA again.

Nothing hardware wise. The current iPhone XS and iPad Pro provide everything required and more.

Just improvements to iOS on iPad Pro, such as being able to have multiple Numbers spreadsheets open with tabs such as in Safari and add rules to mail. Really just bring the native apps in line with those on the Mac in capabilities. If iOS 13 delivers those I will be a very happy man!

I think you can expect tabs in apps such as Numbers spreadsheets to be added in iOS 13, however I doubt native apps will be completely in line with Mac app feature wise.

I wish they fall apart because I’m sick of them.
They need to price their most expensive iPhone at no more than 699. They won’t of course, they’ll easily go dead than lower the price down. Greed. Die then.

iMac design is older than 10 years now. 10!
Paintings in Louvre have thinner bezels. Parhetic!

They’re making their customers idiots.

I wish they go bancrupt, the sooner the better.

For all those Apple lovers... love you families instead, not greedy corp whose existance is for profit reasons only and ever has been.

I want the iOS volume buttons to JUST WORK like they used to. The earlier iphones (and maybe iPod) ios’s were the first to FINALLY (almost magically) eliminate the tail-chasing of having two volume controls to balance: one at the device and one at the speaker. For the longest time, Apple gave us the magical ability to control volume via master (and single) device by just the buttons on your iOS device. You change the Bluetooth speaker volume and voila, the iPhone’s volume setting is changed. FINALLY.

Well that’s all gone now as Apple clouded things up a few ios’s ago. One more “it doesn’t just work” aspect out the window.

I'd like to see...

a) MBPs with sensible priced SSD upgrades so I can replace my old 3 TB (2TB+1TB) 2010 MBP without it costing well over £3k extra for the storage upgrade and making the laptop cost noticeably more than my car.

b) Extensions to Applecare of >3 years, so if I do spend nearly as much as my car on a laptop if it dies after 3 years and a day I'm not totally shafted as the whole thing is unrepairable and I need to replace pretty much the entire thing.

c) MBPs with SSDs that are separate from the main logic board, even if it is proprietary in design, so if one bit dies I wouldn't have to replace the whole thing (currently best part of the over £6k machine for a 4 TB one).

d) some form of upgradeable internal storage announced so I can expand my storage later over the number of years I'll no doubt own it as and when prices fall and my requirements grow (and don't say just use USB-C/thunderbolt else you'll get a poke in the eye: it's a portable laptop to move around with, not just a hub for a spiders-web of cables and plug-in crap).

... can you see a theme here? And so I also guess...

e) continued security updates for High Sierra while I keep waiting for the above 4!

Oh, and go on...

f) a forward delete key on MBP so I don't have to use 2-hands in opposite corners of the keyboard to keep Fn-Deleting still. (Or at least add forward delete to the magic touchbar if I'm gonna be forced to have to pay extra for one of those.)

1: A Mac that can actually do/run VR. (Current, start 2019, line is laughable, so I only work on PC when working with VR)

2: Redesign of OS and iOS. (I seriously miss the old days when OS felt like a professional platform with attention to details and not gimmicks)

3: Powerfull graphics cards that support Ray tracing (Personal opinion, but I'm betting on ray tracing being the way to go in the future, when rendering realistic environments for VR)

An updated iMac with support for targeted display. If LG can make a TB3 display, the iMac can serve as a targeted display.

The updated Mac Pro with more than 2 PCI-E slots. I think there will be two.

Adjust the upgrade pricing on storage and memory. I think this may happen due to a slowing economy and dropping SSD prices.

Blow me away by releasing a Mac tablet or laptop with touch support. Touch works in laptops. Apple excels at refining a technology and making it intuitive and accessible.

NVidia drivers.

A commitment to updating the Mac lineup more regularly.

Better duplicate management in iTunes Match.

A browser interface to my iTunes library. I want to be able to manage my iTunes Match from something that isn't iTunes no my phone.

Face ID across the MacBook and iMac lineup. Logging into a Windows device with my face is convenient and this should be available on Macs.

A web cam that isn't a joke on the entire MacBook lineup.

A Face ID standalone camera for existing Macs or the Mac mini and Mac Pro.

• Make Quality Assurance a MUCH HIGHER PRIORITY
...

Oh yes please!! The two worst security bugs I've ever heard of (and that includes all the Windows and Java and Flash bugs etc.etc.) belong to Apple. There was the full root access bug by entering a carriage return for the password, and the one where is you entered the wrong password 3 times and responded that you would like the password hint when prompted only to be given the password itself - not the hint.

I want to see Apple take their time and actually put innovative technology into their devices. I don’t want Apple to just rush out devices or products out knowing that us as Apple users will just suck them up. I wanna see Apple do away with the S line and completely revamp their phones from year to year. No more incremental upgrades that are hard to decipher by the naked eye. As someone who has stood by and purchased Apple devices and products for years upon years I want to see my money going into something that I can whole heartedly feel like I do have the absolute best in cutting edge technology.

I agree with some of your points. I think we’re gettjng to a point where technology is almost at a plateau. New battery tech would be nice. I really think Apple could step it up in iOS 13. A complete redesign. Dark mode. Better notifications, better widgets.
