Some things I’d like to see in ‘22…

Multiple user accounts available in iPadOS. Tie TouchID to user profiles: anyone can grab the iPad and it open to their world.

Pencil support for iPhone Pro. Screens are now big enough to serve as sketch pads.

Like others have said, Apple-branded monitors would be welcome. Those were my favorite back in the day. My Dell external suuuucks.

Apple-branded mesh routers. Bring back AEBS!
Oops, one more: wireless charging for iPads.

Cheers.

Better software quality.
Less bugs.
More bug fixing.
I could not agree more... I do not understand when "New/More/Better FEATURES" became more important than continuity, reliability and effective software...thats what 'Pro's" really value Apple... and the less people talk about it the less important it becomes...

I would like to see a lower cost laptop with a larger screen- something like a 16 inch MBA, maybe? I think they might be missing a big sale demographic for those of us who want a larger screen on the laptop with out having to spend thousands to do it.

This is what I really need for my aging parents. Mom really wants to move to Apple but can't deal with a 13.3" screen, and doesn't want to spend $2300+ on a 16" macbook when she can pickup a $800 15-16" pc laptop for basic web browsing.

Apple just can't understand that larger doesn't always need to be more expensive.

A Mac Mini with a battery. I like using mine on the dual monitors in the office, but sometimes move it to the living room on the TV. Just needs to be big enough for 15 minutes of run time to make the switch or do a safe shutdown. Helpful for power outage also.

I would like to see them release a Mac that actually has professional creators in mind, but isn't overpriced and limited.

For example, I want to see a Mac that allows me to choose my monitors. I want to see a Mac that allows me to hook up my Cintiq and two or more additional monitors. I want to see a Mac that doesn't require me to take out a personal loan to upgrade the RAM. I want to see a Mac that starts at less than $3000 so people can actually afford it.

My biggest issue with Apple right now is that they have no middle ground. You can get the Mac Pro for $10,000 or you can get an underpowered Mac mini. There is no middle of the road desktop that gives me the freedom to add the peripherals I need for my job. Apple keeps trying to tell me what I need.

Like! Battery would be so useful. At very least 15 minute UPS, but hopefully upgradable to an all day battery. And batteries in the monitors too!

— 32” iMac
— Integration of Apple Music into third-party streams devices
— Multiple Apple-branded display options

I want to see Elon Musk invent the actual Thunderbirds.... that's it.
Elon Musk could take over the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook could get an only bean counter job.
This would be great for Apple.
But I doubt Elon have time for such crap. He have much more fun things to do.

Apart from that……large iMac and standalone displays, larger iMac, much larger iMac ? ?

A lot of these wishes seem to be for cheaper apple products, why not wish for winning the lottery. Apple should be increasing prices.

MONITORS!
A consumer level usb-c 4k 120Hz monitor would be nice.

As for why Apple included HDMI in the MBP despite people thinking they shouldn’t? A quick search for consumer level 4k monitors shows they ALL are HDMI+DP, as well as all 4k projectors, 4k TVs, etc. USB-c based connections on those monitors are not a thing…

I think that Apple Silicon has amazed us and will amaze us more in 2022. But I want the magic back. I want a combination of software, hardware and innovation that embarrasses every competitor and shocks us into saying "Good God...." Apple did have a knack for that. Get it back.

$3.5 trillions valuation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Besides that keep next Macbook Air same case design(square corner, flatish) like current while making similar screen size as 14" Macbook Pro minus notch. If possible iPhone 14 with hole(no notch) for front camera and under screen touch ID.

Go back to a once every two or three years for a major OS update for the Mac. Nobody really does any real work on a phone so it doesn't matter as much how crappy iOS is, but people use the Mac to do real work and need an OS that isn't constantly being yanked around every year just to keep on the same cycle as iOS. Once they have a bit of a breather between versions of macOS they can start doubling down on fixing all the bugs that are introduced as they try to make it more like iOS.
Apple pushing out new versions yearly also means more work and cost for third party software developers with no real benefit for them.

It also increases IT support costs in companies with a large installed mac base.

3) LOWER prices. The prices have increased over and over, to a point that is rediculous. Just because they can get away with it doesn’t mean they should do it.
When I was a teen in the 90's, buying an Apple Computer meant two things. Lots of defending Mac against PC arguments with friends, and being poor, because they cost SO MUCH money.

The rising AUD against USD helped to reduce Apple RRPs here in Australia for about a decade around 2000-2010... but I do believe that Apple worked to reduce their USD prices, and be more affordable. Indeed, in 2004 and 2009 I purchased TWO of my Macs brand new instead of second hand. It's not something that's been repeated. (Yes, bought my TAM new, but it had been marked down massively from its RRP)

Now however... well, we all heard Tim saying that the RRP isn't a deciding factor in making an Apple product - it's about making the best product for the customer. (eyes rolling so hard it hurts)

I don't know if the RRPs of Apple products are "deserved" or not, but it sure feels like Apple is just out to place themselves at the top of the market.

Ideally, the consumer-level monitor would be powered by the usb-c cable too. And have a battery. And be a smart-TV, and wirelessly connect to computer.

I'd like to see more Macs but I'm not buying anymore Apple stuff in 2022. I spent $7.5K in 2021 and I'm good until 2023. Or maybe even 2024. The power in these Apple Silicon systems is actually a lot more than I need.

My top 3 things I want to see from Apple in the year 2022.

1. The software and Hardware team need to work together. Communication is the ?
I want Apple’s Software team to work together with the hardware team. Lately, they have not been working together. So many bugs in the software. Yes, the hardware is there to support it but the software is just lagging. It is behind. More bug fixes. Quality control should be the #1 priority.

2. No more notch
I don’t want to see a “NOTCH” anymore. It’s outdated. It’s 2022 the notch should not be there anymore.

3. No higher prices
I don’t want prices to hike up anymore from Apple. Prices were already up for Apple products in 2021. There’s no need to increase them any more.

Update: 11:01PM PST. This is what I'm talking about.

I can understand your point, but there is only so much bandwidth available. To constantly tell eachother what the time and date is, and other details could consume a lot of that bandwidth, and which one decides who is the lead. Both could hit the cellular, but that consumes data... Yeah, that situation looks embarrassing for Apple, but yours is the first time I've ever seen that happen. I'd classify that as bizarre, or deranged. *shrug*

A USB powered mini Mac mini. That is, one even smaller than the current one but USB powered so it would be quite portable and usable in my RV without needing to turn in my inverter. Not sure this is possible and still have USB ports on the mini. Of course I could just get a laptop so never mind.

Second item is continued dividend payments.

I would like to replace my 2006 30” Cinema Display and mid-2010 6-core Mac Pro (my best Mac ever since my first - a 1989 MacPlus) still running Mojave (no bugs) with a reasonably priced ? alternative. A 30” iMac Pro to handle the latest Adobe Creative Suite would do quite nicely. At 75, my needs are simple, so what I have might have to last to the end, while I wait.
