Destiny 2, just started a new character on my Series X and it's great. I like the new player experience, even though I'm not a new player. Destiny 2 has grown quite a bit over the years so it's good they trimmed the fat and made it flow better.
Hey, I'm pleased to see that you have found a videogame you like after your ill-fated attempts at building a gaming PC. At least you don't have to worry about pesky PC hardware decisions!

Playing with my new PS5!

Played Demon's Souls and beat the first boss. Haven't had time to continue from there, as this is not a game made for 30 minute playing sessions...

Playing Miles Morales for the quick sessions. It's some good forgettable fun and it looks pretty. I'll sell it as soon as I am done with it, but for now I am having fun.

Boy is that true. I remember in the PS3 days you couldn't suspend the system or pause the game. I can remember parking my character in a corner and going to bed with my fingers crossed after an unfinished long trek into a dungeon where I couldn't save.

Same here. Moving on from CP2077 as of today.

I am considering buying Control. However, as the UK has gone into lockdown, I need a bright open world game that I can lose myself into.

AC Origins is probably the game that I will play. I bought it for £10 a few weeks ago with all DLCs included.

A physical copy of Witcher 3 GOYT edition is on the sideline until the next gen version has launched.

It's my birthday this week and my 4 year old daughter told my mum "Maybe we daddy wants a new game" 😁

However I can't think of a game that I should ask for. Might request NFS Hot pursuit Remastered for nostalgia. On the flip side, it the type of game I would rather buy at bargain basement prices.
I really loved AC Origins! I really loved the whole setting and game, was the first game I wanted to get a platinum trophy in. Did the same with odyssey, but liked Origins just a little bit better.

Don't tell you got The Witcher 3!! @MisterSavage will start stalking you until you ever finish the game!
I started playing and two days in they announced the PS5-upgrade, so now I'm waiting for it.

I've been intrigued by control, but never considered buying it. Opinions here on the forum on that game?

Next up:

Is either ‘Death stranding’ or Shadow of the Tomb raider, I’m not sure which one to start with.

I’m also looking to Far Cry 6 coming out, it was slated for February, but the rumor is, it’s now slated for a May potential release. I think those two games I mentioned above should hold me over until then.
I really enjoyed the Tomb Raider games but I do advice you play them in the order they got released. You can buy them for ridiculously low prices if you keep your eyes open.

FC6 got delayed, no rumor but a fact. But I don't mind, my backlog is big enough to play all of 2021 without buying anything...

I really enjoyed Death Stranding but it is so strange. I almost quit in the first six hours because it just felt so tedious. The story got me and I'm glad I stuck with it. I has some great boss fights also.
It's because you enjoyed it so much, I put it on my to-buy-list, and I think I got it somewhere during the summer... It's next on my list now after Resident Evil 2. I do hope that the free PS5 patch for The Witcher 3 is released by then...

It was delayed a long time ago (Due to the pandemic), actually it was slated for February 2021 and now the rumor is May 2021. FC5 was awesome. They nailed the outdoor wilderness scene with the sound, vast wilderness and animals.

Suuuuuure. I'm sure you'll get right to playing it.

I didn’t want to start a separate thread on this, as I don’t think it’s really relevant/necessary to do so. But for the first time ever, I’m purchasing GTAV for the third time when it releases for the PS5 slated fall 2021. I first purchased it for the base PS4 in 2013, and the PS4 Pro Remastered version and now for my PS5. It looks like there’s quite a few technical improvements coming, new added gameplay features, a tweaked storyline and I’m just overall curious to see what kind of mechanics are improved upon. GTAV is in my top -three- best games of all time, and that’s saying something, because I’m extremely particular.

It’s hard to believe it released in 2013, over seven years ago and yet it’s still producing money for Rockstar both online and even used copies sell for up to $25. Just crazy.

Completed Demon's Souls today :)

I'd stopped a week or two ago as I was getting nowhere at all with a particular boss. Today I went back to the game and proceeded to kill him on the first attempt. Go figure. It turns out that he's the final boss.

I then ran into a bug, where I died in New Game+ and it respawned me in the final boss room?!

I bought the game for the first time during the black friday discounts and added it to my backlog, waiting for the PS5-patch to hit. Never played it before and I'm looking forward to it.

You’re in for a surprise. It’s an absolutely intriguing game that will pull you in on many levels with the characters, open world and how the storyline all comes together. Enjoy!

Tried Man Eater (free PS+ game currenlty) and really don't like it. Boring as hell.

Then went on to Resident Evil 2 remake, which was next on my list. The graphics are really nice but the gameplay is dated. Running around in the same building for hours looking for keys, codes and stuff to open doors one buy one. I hoped they would've revamped the gameplay and not just the graphics. Dropping it.

Next up: Death Stranding

God I love gamepass!

I am a sucker for Diablo and Diablo clone games. Right before Christmas Torchlight 3 was on sale for like 24 dollars and I almost pulled the trigger. Welp, it hit gamepass yesterday.

Between the new games that get added on, plus the EA games, and my Valhalla purchase when it first came out and COD. I don't think I need to purchase anything new for quite awhile.

Early this week I bought and completed 'A tale of 2 sons'. At 3 hours, it's a short game but the emotional story and unique gameplay mechanics makes it extremely memorable.

Highly recommended if you find it on sale.

I grabbed that when it was free but haven't played it!

You will enjoy it. Very unique and can Completed in to sittings.

It's nice to play a non combative game for a change.

In my opinion the Far Cry Franchise went downhill after the third Instalment.

Two games delivered for my Series X this week. They cost £8 each.

One conclusion I have is that DLCs are awful and ruin games.

Forza Horizon 2 is no long available to buy digitally. Unfortunately the same is true for DLCs. The game is still playable but the same fate would be disastrous for other games that feel incomplete without DLC.

What's worth is they physical copies of "ultimate" edition usually have DLCs as a code which makes them non transferable when selling on the game.

Railway Empire cost £27 to buy digitally so buying it used for £8 was a no brainer. The DLCs for different maps are not a must have but cost a ridiculous £8 each for a Britain or Mexican map.

Therefore, if you buy plan to buy a used game, I recommend researching the DLCs before pulling the trigger.

That is often true but the DLCs for The Witcher 3 were amazing. Not that @BlankStar would know...
Sorry. I meant that although DLC content can be enjoyable, the model of:
-Release a partial game
-Sell the rest of the story or experience as digital only DLC

Can be bad for gaming if DLCs are taken off digital market places or sold for stupid money.

Thankfully I have managed to buy both Witcher 3 and AC Origins with all DLCs included for £11 per game. However if you fail to take advantage of black Friday sales, some 2-4 year old games can be pricey to buy with all the must have DLC.

There is currently an Xbox store sale just in DLCs. The price of some of them is eye watering. 😂

That definitely sucks! The DLCs chapters for Witcher 3 were self-contained stories and each of them were as big as some standalone games!

What game am I playing? A demo.

Pretty big news:

Resident Evil: The village demo is out, it plays and looks awesome for the PS5. It’s about 15 minutes long and they do a great job of hiding any potential plot points.

But, that’s not the big news, the surprising shocker that all the media outlets for gaming were completely wrong, it is being released for the PS4/Xbox one in addition, which it was reportedly only exclusive to the PS5/XSX. Which I think is a brilliant move by Capcom, because they wouldn’t be able to capitalize on sales given the shortage of consoles, and by offering them for all the consoles, completely broadens the scope for profit.
