Really enjoying Batman!
My only concern with games like this is they infer the player has existing knowledge. All too often you're dropped into a complex story with complex game mechanics and complex controls, the only thing I've nailed down in Batman is how to do that hookshot thing, fly and dive, and go back into the car. Combat has me completely puzzled. It's telling me to press Square to attack, but then pressing Circle and Triangle - but only occasionally! - will do something special. Browsing through the upgrades menu and I see there are loads of additional moves to unlock that require Tekken-style combos to pull off? I dunno, I'd simply that. It's the only thing turning me off the game and others of this sort.
But the visuals, wow. It's so seeped in atmosphere. I'll probably play through this one and not abandon it like most games! :)
Yeah the whole game feels like it knows you have played a previous. I jumped straight in and had no trouble with the combat tbh as it really is same as previous. The controls for the batmobile feel weird though. Stunning visuals throughout though.

Combat will click at some point and you will be leaping like a rhythm action finesse dropping explosive gels and batclaw shots mid flow without batting an eyelid.

They really should have had a better tutorial area for new / unfamiliar users. Don't worry it never gets as complicated as streetlfighter it's more about rhythm and timing to create flow.

is it true that they canned the crime scene stuff (detective mode)?? i keep reading that and thought that was more fun than beating these generic, soulless thugs..guess that made it too repetetive for me.

somehow i see these kind of games in the line of golden axe or final fight (was it? always confuse this series with another) for example and wish they'd add some more ingrediences from way back.

It's kind of there but not as we used it in asylum/City.

It was the first thing I noticed wasn't there like previously. There is still a detective mode for the crimes like crating corpses and such, but the combat X-ray detective mode isn't .

Wooly World is quite addictive, I agree. Regret that I bought it in the e-shop though.

I'm actually enjoying it more than batman which surprised me. Great game.

Will be getting Yoshi's Woolly World soon along with Splatoon! I'm glad you guys are enjoying it. But twietee, why do you regret buying it from the eShop?

Would have preferred a physical copy. Didn't think this would turn out so great. If I spot it somewhere cheapish I'll get it (used maybe).

Captain Toad was lots of fun.

Splatoon looks entertaining, but I'm glad I got Wooly World instead. Map rotation alone would make me furious, lol.

I guess Arkham Knight is basically the same? Except driving around a bit.

I played them all and have been playing Arkham Knight on Xbox One a couple days, and I have to say your description is spot on.

I am enjoying the game, but the issue you mentioned is bothering me also. I have probably unlocked less than one fourth of the items in those skill trees, and I'm starting to feel overwhelmed by all the button combos. I have actually found myself looking to spend my upgrade points on new skills that require fewer new button combos because of this.

Although the game does give you pretty decent screen hints when the right time to use some of those combos comes along. But still.

My time is currently tied up between Arkham knight and the witcher 3 on ps4, with small intervals of mario kart U and Dragon Age on the XONE.

Playing Splatoon! I really wish it had voice chat so that I can communicate with my team. Also the game needs more maps. I'm pretty sure we'll see updates soon. Having fun nevertheless! :D

Just picked that up today! All I hear is how fun it is and how they're being nice by adding lots of new content. Very nice to see!

Anyone else prefer playing Splatoon with the classic controller instead of the GamePad? I wish we had the option to choose one or the other when playing online.

Here. Had an argument with s.o. over that. It's one of the two reasons I'm not really considering it at all. When the only reason for it to be mandatory is the superjump, I'll say it's a bad design choice. No-Off tv play is big for me as it's basically 70% of how I play my games - and when I want to play on the TV I hate the gamepad as a controller since it's super clunky. Amount of maps and the odd 4h rotation inbetween (!) is a strict no-go for me.

Also, the game came with five maps to begin with (IIRC), so I don't think it's like they're handing out free DLC now because they're some generous dudes.

I'm still playing Batman AK and Witcher 3 on PS4. I'm loving Batman but I'm not interested in these riddler driving missions or chasing down armor tanks. I really loved the murder mystery missions.

The Witcher 3 is just awesome on all levels.

Bless

+1

You need to see the map though, and for super jump, so I understand why pro controller is not supported.

Yeah but I thought of it this way. If we could choose to play with the classic controller, the map could be on-screen. Like in the corner or something. And for Super Jump, we could have the option to enable and disable, that would be cool.

Playing Splatoon. Almost done with the solo campaign - Final Boss > insane!

I finished story mode. Wow. Final boss fight was so very long. And a bit difficult. There were missiles, lasers and ink flying everywhere. It was really intense.

Playing the same games.. Im currently at 70% on the AK main mission, but right now I am focusing on all the side missions, I heard its the only way to unlock the better ending. On the witcher, well I never played the other 2, but this one is great!!

Wii U: Scribblenauts Unlimited
PS4: Never Alone
Xbox One: Forza Horizon 2

How is scribblenauts? Would you recommend it?

It's a fun game. Very innovative and creative. I like it and prefer playing with family/friends around, much enjoyable than playing alone. I have finished the game by the way, I'm just playing some levels again. I used to play the DS version.

Yeah i was tempted to pick it up when it first came out but for some inexplicable reason it was removed before sale here and took two extra years before it was ever released. I have the iOS versions - just not sure its worth paying €50 for the Wii U version - but yet i'm still tempted :)
