This was one reason why I was trying to upgrade the PC last year. I looked up pricing for a 5800X3D and had some serious sticker shock - those puppies are going to close to 1,000

Yeah the 5500x3d and 5700x3d were replacement attempts (I guess) though 5000 series x3d are harder to find in general at reasonable prices.

Ryzen 9 9955HX 3D, 32GB RAM, 5070TI, dual NVMe SSD's it's fast crushes desktops. Battery is best considered as a UPS LOL...

I’ve got it all in my sig. if I could buy a beefy Mac Studio and game on that I would, but it’s just way too many compromises to live with. I also have a ps5, but honestly I almost never use it.

In order of least played to most

PS4 (almost never now, upgraded the HDD to 1TB)
"Gaming" PC (upgraded this summer to AM5/DDR5 before the price hikes, Ryzen 7600x, Radeon 7800XT, 32GB RAM, 1TB NVMe, 1TB SSD, 3TB HDD)
Steam Deck (base model upgraded with a 2TB NVMe and 1TB mSD card)
Mac Strudio (M1 Max, base model, several Thnderbolt drives for storage)
14 inch Macbook Pro (Recently aquired to replace my older model, M2 Max with 32GB RAM, 2TB internal and a 2TB extral magsafe drive)

2 days after posting this my wife got me a PS5 (For Christmas), to which I added a 2TB NVMe drive that I found at a "reasonable" price for the current enviroment. I also have an external 1tb drive that all my PS4 games now live on. The PS5 has become my most played system, partially because it is the newest system, but also placement, and the ability to use my steam deck basically as a PS portal.
