I think it's clear that Apple is turning away form innovating and focusing on expanding and making more money.

Steve Jobs focused the company on innovation, and others like Jobs' predecessor will focus on slash and burn and maximizing profits for the short term.

Expanding and bigger profits are fine, as long as innovation stays. This update was more juicy though than, say, the last iMac refresh.

I believe this to be the case! Look at Google. When Schmidt took over as CEO at Google they changed from constantly innovating and coming with new ideas or entering new markets and were focused on maximizing profits and upping stock price. When Page took over first thing he said was that it was going to change and they needed to get back to innovating. You can already see that in some of the things they are doing.

Looks like Cook is going to probably focus on profitability and maximizing shareholder revenue. I hope to be proved wrong thought.
