I'm not getting an "iPad Pro" or whatever it may turn out to be if it happens.. But I really really want this to have OS X on it and to be more MacBook-like so Microsoft can shut up with these sorts of commercials.

I hate seeing companies attack each other like this. Making the other brand and all customers of that brand look foolish and all. Also it seems like they are just trying to take advantage of the people who aren't very knowledgable when it comes to tech/tech decisions. The Mac experience may be great for someone instead of the Windows experience, but people don't see any difference other than "that ones better" because of these commercials.

No way it will have a USB port. It must be proprietary and an adapter must be no less than 29 dollars (plus shipping). And no, cheap Chinese knock offs will not work.

Best part about having the iPad pro will be to watch cool Microsoft commercials and maybe some Samsung ones too.

There's a possibility. All these laptops have USB ports and SD Cards, so part of making it a laptop replacement involves putting these stuff in, although I can see why they wouldn't put it into an iPad, what with there not being a file manager and some other stuff. On the other hand, I don't often see people using USBs on laptops either, so there would probably be about as much demand on something like this.
Of course, there is the matter of a USB port being able to fit within the framework

Exactly. I'm asking for a MacBook Air with a touch screen, plus all the stuff that iOS uses to it's advantage, for the same or less money

I'm also expecting an ultra thin MacBook later on with the stuff that the MacBook Pro has, at 12 or 15 inches, for the same price points as the MacBook Air.

There. Done. Now leave my iPad alone.

Me personally, I think this iPad Pro is a bad idea. I see no need for a large screen iPad. The whole feel is wrong. The metrics don't jive.

And who EVER said that the iPad was supposed to be a laptop replacement? It's a laptop killer. I have not used my personal laptop since I got my first iPad. That said, I don't want to see a bunch of USP ports and Thunderblahblah ports and video ports popping up on my iPad. I can do 95% of what I was doing on my laptop on my iPad now, that last 5%, don't really care about ripping DVDs/BluRays on my iPad.

EDIT: The more I think about it, the less it sounds like you want an iPad. Sounds to me you want the Modbook. Or maybe you want the failed Samsung Note 12. It sounds to me like you're blah about the iPad, kinda like a middle aged man with the family minivan that goes out and buys the Corvette. Sounds like it's time for you to move on, and when you realize what a mistake you're made in a few months, come back and deal with the payments on your new hotrod that will be collecting dust.

Well if apple doesn't drop an iPad pro, ill have to buy a "failed" product like the samsung galaxy tab. I need a sheet music reader and if i could get one that could replace my rMbp at the same time that would be great. It would need to have OS X compatibility though. I doubt they will make though. We are probably gonna see some over priced low performing mac book air with intel Core M in it.

Again, you are asking for the Modbook Pro, not an iPad or a Galaxy Tab.

If you mean OS X compatibility by it being able to run OS X when the keyboard case is attached, there would just be a few things that wouldn't really work. Bear in mind that it would still be touchscreen, and it would still run all the iOS software. Part of my plan was that there would be a special design of iOS that would be perfect to use with the mouse. I can go through my full list of ideas if you want me to, but the point is that putting OS X on this would just take away loads of the capabilities of iOS.

OS X compatibility to run OS X applications???

Not going to happen. No way, no how.

I don't see why not. There are so many comments saying this sort of thing, but if it is something that might attract people looking for a laptop class iPad, then why not? There are some apps on the Mac App Store that a somewhat old iPad wouldn't be able to handle, so it gives those users an opportunity to use those while they are waiting for a full iPad version of that app.

I hope they just do a 12 mba retina. Last thing I wanna see while on vacation are people taking pictures with a 12 inch iPad smh

A9X performance won't match a full Intel, the hardware is vastly different, and it would affect higher margin platforms. Architecture is just too different. If they did it via a dedicated VM, it would be even worse.

The whole idea of an iPad pro is intriguing. Apple doesn't do things haphazardly so if this does appear it implies Apple has researched this and believes it fits a need.

As the name implies this would not be for the average household. I'd guess it would be for photographers, videographers, engineers, architects and such. As such, it would need a more precise digitizer. What's the point of having great charts, graphs and technical drawings if you can't precisely point to things?

That may be true, but bear in mind that the iPad Pro will be much more capable of running more advanced apps, so developers of PC software will learn how to make an app that is perfect for the Pro. And if they do add a Digitiser then it would be even better.

I think we've learned that Apple are anti-stylus. I was tempted to add that to my list, but I thought, would Apple really do this? But I guess that is the same with the whole idea of the laptop case, because Tim Cook said that he was against hybrids, but I think that they will end up making this as more smart and easy to use than other hybrids like the Surface. I think it's the same sort of thing with the digitiser and the stylus.

Non-squitur. You said run OS X apps. That's what I replied to, not PC software ported to iPads.

Yes, then I realised that I was wrong, and reminded you that most of the OS X software could make its way to the iPad one way or another

What does everyone see as the use case for the iPad Pro?

I'm stuck on a third generation iPad, the first retina unit. Beautiful display, but really didn't have enough CPU and GPU.

I use my iPad only at home, I don't take it outside of the house, not even on a trip.

Is it probably worth waiting on the iPad Pro rather than an iPad Air 2?

Do most of you feel that if sitting in your comfortable chair or couch, the iPad Pro is going to be "the" experience at home over a traditional iPad?

Well what kind of things do you expect from your iPad? It all depends on that
