What is it with multitasking?

Come on, that commercial is great. The surface pro has a USB man. USB!
No way it will have a USB port. It must be proprietary and an adapter must be no less than 29 dollars (plus shipping). And no, cheap Chinese knock offs will not.
Exactly. I'm asking for a MacBook Air with a touch screen, plus all the stuff that iOS uses to it's advantage, for the same or less money
I'm also expecting an ultra thin MacBook later on with the stuff that the MacBook Pro has, at 12 or 15 inches, for the same price points as the MacBook Air.
There's a possibility. All these laptops have USB ports and SD Cards, so part of making it a laptop replacement involves putting these stuff in, although I can see why they wouldn't put it into an iPad, what with there not being a file manager and some other stuff. On the other hand, I don't often see people using USBs on laptops either, so there would probably be about as much demand on something like this.
Of course, there is the matter of a USB port being able to fit within the framework
Well if apple doesn't drop an iPad pro, ill have to buy a "failed" product like the samsung galaxy tab. I need a sheet music reader and if i could get one that could replace my rMbp at the same time that would be great. It would need to have OS X compatibility though. I doubt they will make though. We are probably gonna see some over priced low performing mac book air with intel Core M in it.

OS X compatibility to run OS X applications???
Not going to happen. No way, no how.
I don't see why not. There are so many comments saying this sort of thing, but if it is something that might attract people looking for a laptop class iPad, then why not? There are some apps on the Mac App Store that a somewhat old iPad wouldn't be able to handle, so it gives those users an opportunity to use those while they are waiting for a full iPad version of that app.
A9X performance won't match a full Intel, the hardware is vastly different, and it would affect higher margin platforms. Architecture is just too different. If they did it via a dedicated VM, it would be even worse.
It would need a more precise digitizer. What's the point of having great charts, graphs and technical drawings if you can't precisely point to things?
That may be true, but bear in mind that the iPad Pro will be much more capable of running more advanced apps, so developers of PC software will learn how to make an app that is perfect for the Pro. And if they do add a Digitiser then it would be even better.
Non-squitur. You said run OS X apps. That's what I replied to, not PC software ported to iPads.
What does everyone see as the use case for the iPad Pro?
I'm stuck on a third generation iPad, the first retina unit. Beautiful display, but really didn't have enough CPU and GPU.
I use my iPad only at home, I don't take it outside of the house, not even on a trip.
Is it probably worth waiting on the iPad Pro rather than an iPad Air 2?
Do most of you feel that if sitting in your comfortable chair or couch, the iPad Pro is going to be "the" experience at home over a traditional iPad?
