Even if they wanted to, they couldnt. iPhone is their most successful product and it would be fiscal suicide to quit now.

And pull 50% of their revenue stream? I don't think so. Apple will fire Jobs before he gets a chance to get rid of the iPhone.

Most of the time these scientist and engineers care more about the product that they do the money. They have enough money they could stop at any time.

With how many iPhones they sell, not a chance. That's like saying they are going to discontinue the iPod lol.

Then your life would be meaningless.

Apple is pretty deep into the iPhone project and the dedication to this platform is immense. Just think of the millions of apps that already exist on the platform, Apple just couldn't give up the platform that easily, at least in the next 5-10 years. They are in it for the long haul now. What first seemed like a pet project in 2006 has taken off. iPhone is much bigger than Apple ever thought it would be!!

You do realize then it would be a debate between which Android phone was better? With a few people lamenting how the iphone was better and should never have died (aren't their still people bitching about Betamax or whatever it was vs. VHS? There were at least 10 years ago and that was still 20 years after the fact).

Cheap Trick released their last record on CD, Vinyl, and 8 track.

Who saw that coming?!

But you're 100% right. "Mt htc is better than your samsung" and yadda yadda.

I mean all of this nonsense is going to upset jobs and he is going to pull the plug. Then people would have nothing to whine about. It might up the suicide rate though.

I would spend tons of money to buy at least 10 iPhone 4's that way when they eventually stop working I have replacements ready. :D

No iPhone = No jobs for these scientists and engineers. And since they care about the product, they're not just gonna stop selling it.
