One of the biggest problems with internet forums is that we all bring our own psychological baggage with us. It's very easy, just reading text, to read emotions into posts that do not exist in the poster's mind. It's important to recognise this and not take immediate offence at something someone says, primarily because it reminds us of something in our own past experience.
I'm really not trying to be critical here, just pointing out that it's very easy to jump to conclusions that the other poster did not intend you to have. they may just have a more abrupt posting style.
It's always best, especially on this forum, which I have to say is one of the most supportive that I have encountered, to give people the benefit of the doubt, and keep a positive attitude. It's OK to disagree with other people, and everyone has a different way of expressing it. If you take offence, pause and consider the possibility that the poster did not intend to hurt your feelings. Laugh it off and carry on in kind.
Having said that, some people can post things that can be inconsiderate and hurtful to others, it does pay to re-read anything before you post and consider how it might be received. If someone is genuinely and unmistakably offensive or hurtful, let the powers that be know about it, and they will deal with it.
