I can use a Samsung S2 one handed. It's definitely not true.

Besides, a thinner iPhone with a 4 inch screen will hardly be an issue for even the smallest hands.

What is the green thing supposed to signify? I can reach every corner of my sgs2 with my thumb and my hands aren't that big.

Probably should have tested my iPhone before I posted that. haha.

Yeah that "thumb" coverage isn't right at all. Must have been made by a dwarf.

Its not that it's not right it's just made by someone forcefully trying to make apple look better. I can hold my 4s in such away that is the best coverage I get.

I never found it comfortable to type one hand with any phone so it's irrelevant to me.

I'm hoping the next iPhone is 4.3". I find that to be the perfect size. I'm sure no matter what the screen size is in the next iPhone people will complain. However, if its larger, those who prefer the 3.5" display will still have the iPhone 4s as an option.

3.7 to 4.0 if its still in the same form factor ;) Had the Galaxy S2 and I did not like the size at all.

4.0-4.3" , people saying bigger screens are too big don't know what their talking about, sure there are bulkier phones... but if Samsung gave my i777 GS2 a 4.3" screen in a phone casing barely larger then our 3GS/4/4S, then Apple can do it as well. Plus the size of the 4.3" GS2 fits better in my pocket where as the iPhones have twisted around or gotten jammed sideways, and it feels great in the hand and I don't have large hands either, and my thumb can reach the corner... you'd have to have midget hands to not be able to do that on this phone like that fake pic showed lol.

It's great being able to relax and browse/read especially at night in bed without the phone so close to my face or just in general, and that's with 20/15 vision. I'd bet my money on Apple's next phone having a 4" screen.

3.5". I had a 4" Android phone, and 4" just doesn't fit in the hand like a 3.5" phone does. The iPhone just feels so natural to use, unlike the larger and clunkier Android phones. I hope they never go bigger than 3.5". Oh well, at least the 4S has several more years of life left in it.

4" screens are not the best, but they are tolerable. 4.3" screens are getting too big, anything bigger is just absurd (I'm looking at you, Galaxy Note).

Not sure how true this is but i've seen it about quite a lot.

I think the green part doesn't show the reach is of an average thumb, but it shows the average comfortable reach. Everything outside the green area should demand more effort than usual/average (or everything from within the green zone) and reaching for a button or item outside that zone makes it a less comfortable experience. I can reach the corners of a HTC Titan, but it doesn't feel nice to do so :)

ahh ok, that makes sense :)

I did think a bigger screen would be better but i think apple is correct in keeping the smaller size now i have tried various android phones, yes if you watch loads of video then a bigger screen may be better but when i compared say the galaxy nexus and iphone next to one another watching a you tube clips i found myself looking at the iphone screen more which really suprised me!

i especially like using the reader option on web pages, that is perfect in my opinion for clarity of text.

If Apple made the iPhone 4 inches, you'd say how great it feels, simply because Apple made it.

Exactly.

It reminds me of how people said that 320x480 was just fine as a screen resolution, because after all, "Apple had chosen it". Later, when retina screens appeared, suddenly double that resolution became the criteria for fineness. The same will happen with larger screens. It's so silly... and so predictable.

Sometimes I think that people who say they wouldn't want X, should be put on a master list. Then when X actually becomes available, they should be banned from owning it.

After a couple of times being stopped by their own shortsightedness, they might become more receptive to change.

PS. Yes, there could be some people who would actually refuse to buy a larger screen... and thus would have no choice but to keep their old phone or move to another system where there's more choice, but I bet they'd be a very tiny minority.

I really like the current 3.5" screen, it's the perfect size for me. I'm just not a big fan of large phone screens because they're harder for me to use one handed and also harder to get a good grip on the phone.

I'm not against the iPhone getting a larger screen though. My last phone's screen was 3.7" (I know, not a large screen but there's a noticeable difference compared to 3.5") and while it felt a little clunkier than my iPhone 4S (for reasons above) it was still very useable.

Funny to see some sheeps saying 3.5" is the best screen for an iPhone.

O yeah, they should've been listed and banned permanently once next gen iPhone comes with 4" screen and found out they gracefully say another "it's the perfect screen for an iPhone"

Oh man that would be so great. I would laugh so much at the anti-choice brigade. :D

I don't care how big the screen is. I do care how big the phone is. It fits great in my pocket and in my hands. If they made the iPhone bigger I would probably get used to it but I sure hope they don't.

I think the iPhone screen is pretty darn close to being the perfect size. All of my friends' android phones with bigger screens feel way too big in my pocket/hand. Maybe an extra quarter or half inch and even more pixels might be nice, but I'm very happy with the current screen size.

It will be wider and longer, but you won't care that much because Apple made it.

The main reason that Android phones have such large screens is to fit the massive battery that's needed for LTE. Hungrier chips = bigger battery. Phones either had to get thicker or longer.

If the next-gen iPhone is to be LTE, it'll probably have a new battery technology.

I don't think the battery has anything to do with it. People are using their phones for a lot more than email and SMS now. New apps, games, and browsing work a lot better with a bigger screen. A bigger screen makes for a bigger phone that has room for more battery. I'm still amazed that most 4"+ Android phones are still lighter and just as thin as the iPhone 4.
