My favorite car I've own thus far has got to be my 2010 gray Ford Ranger. Amazingly fun to drive and gets great gas mileage. Kind of sad Ford killed them. Guess I'll be keeping mine until the engine falls out.

That woulda been a cool story right? haha no I was turning left into a plaza and waited for oncoming traffic to pass. Some lady in a Toyota Sequoia waved for me to go ahead. Stupid me went without checking and bam....I got hit by a car coming at 45mph. :(

Yikes! Glad you're okay though.

----------

I'm having fun right now driving my 04 Jeep Liberty. It's no dragster, but for some reason I just love this car.

As it sits right now, 334k orig miles on the motor and tranny.

Mom got it new in 89. I had the title signed over to me in 2007. It was my daily driver/camp vehicle for years.

When I moved to TX, I needed something with a better A/C system. So I parked it and got an 01 loaded Durango.

Bronco sat in parking lot for a year until my recent move. I now live half a mile from the office and I drive it daily to work. After a year sitting, runs smooth (can't tell it's running other than the exhaust). Brakes just fine. Doesn't have blue smoke out the rear. Runs just as good as the day I got it in 07.

While not as "smooth" as my Durango, I love it and plan to drive it until the motor goes.

It does have power locks/windows/AC/4x4 and decent power. Suspension is straight, as I have roughly 50k miles on the Bridgestone A/T tires. Down to about 7/32 of tread left.

I love my Ferd.

A 1998 Nissan Sentra did well for me. Very little issues after 140k hard miles. My only complaint was the big hit on power once the miles got up there, but what can you expect from a little 4 cylinder with high miles.

Sea foam.

I put sea foam in my Bronco every 6 months. Really does help a lot. Look it up via google.

My Bronco with 334k orig miles (remind you, it's 22yr old!) can still burn rubber. And it just has the 5.0 v8 (baby v8 offered during production)

Killing it was a horrible decision IMO.

I live not far from the St. Paul plant where they were built, that just closed.

I too had a Ranger, in '01 I bought a '97 XLT. Regular cab, 2WD, 4-banger, had 48k miles when I got it. It was the perfect little truck to tool around in, and while it was a small truck it had the nice bigger alloy wheels being an XLT.

Great little truck, most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. While I love the F-150, I would hate to be forced into something that big for the rare time i need to haul something small like a lawn mower or whatever.

Totally agree, killing the Ranger was a huge mistake. I own both an '88 and a '98. Wonderful trucks, great gas mileage, powerful enough to do light hauling and towing, and as said - very fun to drive. It's such a shame North America no longer has a true compact pickup market, only midsize available. :( The F-150 is a fine truck for sure, but just too big for my tastes.

Ive seen a number of accidents like that. Last time a lady tried to insist I go in front of her (she would NOT pull forward and was too big for me to see around her) I pulled up to her window and asked her if she was also checking the flow of traffic on her right side since I couldn't see it. She was completely taken aback. They think they are being nice, but really, who gets the ticket?? Plus now there are two totaled cars and the "nice person" gets to drive away.

I also hate when they just stop dead in the middle of the street to let a car out of a driveway and you almost back end them. Ugh!

Best car I've owned is my newest one, as I haven't had it long enough to have had any major problems. Now, if I didn't hold on to my cars for 10-12 years, and instead traded them in after 3-5 years, I wouldn't have had major problems with any of them.

What do you consider major? I drive a 26 year old grocery getter with no major issues. Cars always need some sort of maintenance. I pay way less per year maintaining my old one than I would on payments and taxes on a newer one.

2009 VW Golf GTI. Love that car. It's fun, practical and economical.

Okay, at 30 MPG highway on premium gas, economical might be a bit of a stretch, but it's not terrible, certainly not for a car as fun as it is.

well....as me,
I had a yellow Mk2 1600 Sport. Fitted a 4 branch manifold and K&N and it went like stink.

Yep, she just drove away like nothing happend. I'm not claiming its her fault, because it's not. But if you wave for me please be sure that it's clear.

Awesome. Thanks. I did use some fuel injection cleaner at times, but I will definetly try out seafoam.

They never do. That time I said something, I was actually gesturing to her, pointing to the other side of her car, shaking my head and she wouldn't freaking move. We had eye contact the entire time so I knew she wasn't looking. Then because I got so annoyed and decided to say something to her, I actually pulled beyond the driveway and had to drive around the block to get in the back entrance. Hopefully I taught her something that day.

Me, I'm cautious. I'll drive around the block if I can't make a left turn out of a driveway or street.

SO glad you are OK! A 45 mph hit is nothing to sneeze at!

That's ridiculous! She's not doing anyone a favor! I'd rather people be "rude" and not let me through than someone giving me a false pretense of the road being clear. I run the scenario back through my head ALL THE TIME! Yeah it was pretty bad, 19k in damages and my insurance wouldn't total the car. So i took the check for 19k and sold the car. I didn't want to chance anything going wrong down the road. 7 air bags blew. Acura is definitely a safe car :)

The best car I've owned, based on many years of experience, was my Plymouth...

98_plymouth_breeze_expresso.jpg

outside of the usual stuff, I didn't one ounce of trouble with that car. Underpowered, great gas mileage and a perfect first vehicle. The only reason I let it go was it got totalled in an accident last December. After a brief and very fleeting fling with a BMW 745, I currently drive a Mazda6 Sport Wagon. Love it too and it's much better quality than the Plymouth, but it's only been a few months.

...that Mazda has a some zip to it, boy does it.
