and also it is in your contract
as all cell providers are aware that iphone posts a risk of illegal tethering
as they are aware of this app is out there
as we know of jailbreaking is now not illegal but using your jailbroken iphone to commit violation of your contract is illegal
therfor they will pursue if they have the correct proof
and data spikes in your activity is a certain way for them to have the proof they need
they may not pursue legal justice but they will disconnect your contract

This is my personal phone. I did not want a work phone due to the point of I already have unlimited everything and I have no roaming unlike the company I work for. So I use my personal phone as a work phone, which is good since I travel a lot. I am also grandfathered in with the unlimited data also. So what is ROCK? I am new to Cydia. Just downloaded it like an hour or two ago.
Rock is basically a Cydia alternative. Some programs use it for license authentication, also. Like MyWi.
Rock is a package manager similar to Cydia that allow you to install App to your iphone. Just look it up on Cydia and them use it to install Mywi.
There are not really free solution as the moment other than pirate the software which i don't recommend, $20 is not bad for such a great app.

i stay in uk and im with orange
also i just downloaded mywi and did notpay
there is a reason for that
and its simple
i will wait for my bill to come in before i commit to buying something that is
well after all it works and works really well i might add
but my point is this why pay for something that is still noticeable to my carrier provider
if it goes unnoticed then i will buy without a doubt
as cracked versions are unstable and unreliable
note to OP dont listen to any one that says your cheap for not shelling out for an app
if you want free then get it free it is your choice

I'm violating the terms of my agreement. Just like jailbreaking an iPhone I'm sure, while not illegal, technically voids Apple's agreement to guarantee my products performance. Neither are stealing. Pirating someone's software is.

but that would be a very big mistake to say that you do the tethering using apps like mywi.
as they will give you a hefty fine followed by a huge bill for all the date you obtained illegally

im not sure why no one talked about bigboss tethering it cost $5 and has a 14 day free trial i use it and it works great!!
That's very questionable. And even if it is the case, you're just violating your contract. That's a lot different than breaking a law.
Cydia or Rock? I really don't want Rock on my phone. I downloaded MyWi 4.0, & Rock came with it. I got rid of all of that. The other versions of MyWi on Cydia say that they don't work with iOS 4.0.
I was actually asking if the Big Boss tethering app was in Cydia or Rock. I found it in Cydia, but it didn't list a price. I wasn't sure if it was like MyWi & used Rock due to some licensing issue.

after u dl it u start the trial. im using it it also has easy to follow instructions i had it running in 5 min
In typical "new to jailbreaking" fashion, it didn't automatically tell me to respring & I didn't think to do it. After downloading something else, it resprung & BB tether showed up.
So, what have we learned today? RESPRING.
The only free way is through hacking the commcenter via command line. You don't get the wifi hotspot capability but bluetooth and USB tethering still work fine.
