I am going for a 42mm Space gray watch Sport.
I think Apple I going to charge an extra of 25% for the larger one.

So $ 435 for the watch and $ 75 for the shipping because i have to import it to my country. Will not wait for a release here.

That looks so much better than it does on Apple's site, that I won't even be mad if I can't afford the stainless steel version.

I really want the stainless steel version, but if the price is too high it may be worth getting the Sport for GEN I and waiting out for a more expensive model for the 2nd GEN. I may go with the Space Gray one also then.

Whoa. That looks way nicer in real life than it does on Apple's website. I may have to add this one to the models I'm considering!

Looks great right! It's not that I can't afford a SS version but it's more I want to wait for a second model before spending big. That and I like the Matt finish of the Space Gray better.

I think the space gray version with a nice Brown leather band will be awesome.

The most I would spend is $300, since the lowest level watch will be $349, I guess I'm going to be waiting a while.

I wouldn't pay more than the $99 for my Pebble, because

1. I can't afford $350+
2. I love my Pebble, so only cost could sway me.

The Stainless Steel version looks really nice with the Stainless Steel Link Bracelet from the pictures I've seen online. To be honest all the bands/straps look really nice you can tell that Apple have spent time designing some really nice bands/straps.

The only thing that remains to be seen is price for these bands individually.

How much are you willing to pay for the Apple Watch? [...] Please state the edition model and size you want. Then say what is the MAX you will pay for it. Either Apple Watch, Apple Sport, or Apple Edition and either in 38mm or 42mm, then the max you are willing to spend.

For me, it's hard to say... the most I've spent on a watch is about $450 (on an ESQ (a Movado subsidiary) stainless steel "sports" watch. It's lasted about 16 years, and I'm sure it would last for generations to come if I take good care of it.

It's a completely different beast, though... I don't have to charge it every night, and I don't have to take into consideration the fact that there may be an "updated version" coming out that makes it obsolete every year or so...

Personally, I'm looking forward to getting the "Apple Watch" stainless steel version (in 42mm), with the "link bracelet" band. I think it's a timeless (no pun intended) look that will look good in both a formal and informal setting.

My question/concern about pricing is how Apple is going to handle the pricing of bands. I mean, say the Apple Watch costs $349, they're clearly going to have to include a band *with* the watch... but which band are they going to include, and how much are additional bands going to cost? Are they going to sell the watch without a band so that you have your choice of whatever band you want, instead of getting a "generic" band? That part of the (pricing) equation intrigues me...

No one knows but it is ALL but certain the $350 will be for a 38mm Sport with fluoroelastomer strap. The SS will likely be much higher cost. Probably in the $500 to $1,000 starting range. The straps are anyone guess. I believe the straps (sans the fluoroelastomer) will probably start north of $100.

I don't have enough info yet. At this point, the watch does not feel like an essential buy for me the way a new phone every 2 years is, so my inclination is to stay on the low (under $400) end. Also if it is like the phone and becomes pretty much obsolete and buggy and incompatible with new apps after a couple years like the phone, then I'm DEFINITELY sticking on the low end because why would I spend for a high end fashion accessory that I'm only going to keep for 2 years? If I'm going to buy a $1000 watch, I'm keeping that sucker for 10+ years. Point is, really, it's the lower price of about $350 which is the only reason I'm even considering this device because I really haven't been convinced that I need it yet. (I do want to be convinced)

What I plan to spend

Good question and one with no definitive answer. I'd like to have one and have an idea about the maximum amount I'd like to spend. However, I remain flexible because it's more important, to me, that I get what I want. So, I won't be entirely driven by pricing, even though price is important.

Now, ideally, I wouldn't want to spend more than $500. But if the least expensive model is not what I want than that maximum amount may change a bit. The bottom line is that I would be willing to pay for what I want.

I think the most I ever spent on a watch was about $30us and that was 40
odd years ago.....

....today I'd spend $0us on the :apple:watch. I don't do watches, they are
useless to me since I always have at least one phone with me all the time.

The watch like TV is old and dying technology......

Why are you on the Apple Watch forum?

I have about £500-600 set aside, I would like stainless steel watch (42mm), bracelet and sports band...

Same as me then, altho ive set aside £1000 because Apple tends to be on the expensive side and I can see the Stainless Steel Watch with Stainless Steel Link Bracelet and with buying a sport band costing around that mark.
