Is that because you don't like the look of Aluminium ?

Or the strap, which you know you could change.

What is wrong about the Aluminium version in your opinion that makes you uninterested in it ?

Aluminium may not suck completly, but not having the sapphire screen and zirconia back sucks...

Also, the metal bands will look out of place.

Although being an Apple enthusiast, I'll be using my current watch collection as wearers, rather than investing in electronic wearables.

That being said, there is a potential I may pick one up on the secondary market....if the price is right.

Apple watch, the bigger model (I think, though will want to see it in person first) and then I'm turn between the link bracelet, the Milanese loop and the Classic Buckle.

Max I would spend is £400. So will probably have to settle for the Sport version.

Stainless Steel ( probably $529 )

Stainless Steel 38mm ( small arm) with classic leather buckle ( I love the look of the watch itself with the small space between band and watch ) with extra white sport band for sport activities. I would like to pay max $550. My guess is $529 but I fear it will be around $600.

Probably I'd be going for the base with the larger screen. Since I'd prefer a watch that can go basically anywhere, the Sport would be my choice as I can take it outdoors and still use it in the office. I don't attend enough formal events to care about my watch. I'll pay extra functionality, I don't really pay much extra for looks as long as what I'm getting is "good enough".

I'll want to see how the different sizes look on my wrist as well as see reports of real world battery life for each before I pull the trigger. I'm set on the stainless steel and would spend up to $550 for it.

Ideally $399 for the Apple Watch 42mm. If it's more than $449 I'll probably buy the Sport if I buy one.

Don't you think the screen of the sports model will last a year at least?

Strap wise, you know there will be a VAST amount of 3rd party straps in all metal finishes that will come out.

Personally I like the matt finish of the Aluminium, even if was not the sports model.

I'd like to be able to get the SS 38mm for under $750 with the metal link band, but the band seems to be quite intricate so it will probably be more expensive. $1000 most likely is my max. I wish I was as optimistic as some people wanted the SS for $399 but that just isn't the way apple prices their products unfortunately. :)

I'm going to wait to see the weight comparison between the stainless steel and aluminum. The cost really doesn't matter much, I know the base price of $350, I'll spend whatever to buy the one I want.

Depends on the final details and pricing, I like the look of the stainless steel and either the link band or milanese loop. Haven't decided on 42mm vs 38mm yet.

I'd like to think the watch will be ~$499 with the default band, and then maybe $100-200 for the metal bands. If its more expensive, or there are more pricing options then we'll see.

In terms of my general expectations:
* I don't necessarily thing there will be a price difference between the big and the small one.
* I don't see the Stainless Steel being more than $499 with the basic sport band.
* The Edition I expect to be at least $2000.
* Bands I'm expecting to be priced between $49 and 199 depending on the type. Maybe a bit more for the edition ones with the gold trim?

I want the Space Grey Sport at 38mm. That is not even me settling, I prefer the "all black" look and the matte black finish. The gold is gaudy, and the stainless steel is too flashy (maybe the "black" stainless steel one) but even that seem too flashy for my taste.

If I could get the sport with the higher quality sapphire glass I would be willing to pay for that, but that is really the only thing I would be "settling" for. I have faith that the Sport band will be much better than the "rubber" bands I have worn in the past. The nice thing about the watch is I am not too concerned about the band knowing I can replace it later on with something I might like better from Apple or even a third party.

The only thing that might make me reconsider is if the 42mm offers anything better, like improved battery life. I have pretty small wrists, so 38mm seems like my best bet, but I could probably be okay with a larger one provided other imporvements.

With that said, the most I would be willing to pay is about $400 for that. I would be surprised if there is a premium on the black one, but I have "budgeted" for around $400 currently.
