A bigger screen is nice and should be an option.

BUT, true choice is offering the product in multiple sizes for as many people as possible while keeping the profits as a corporation still wants to make money. I would say two choices of 3.5-4 inch and 4.3-4.5 inch variations of same models would cover things fine. May be a third of 4.7-5 if they can justify the cost for that too.

Already done with computers by the way. Even some tablet models too...

Although android manufacturers have messed it up big time by moving all their high end offerings to tablet sized devices only. No one gets "choice" as it should be.

Seriously. I just don't get this whole obsession about having a bigger screen.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a comically unwieldy oversized screen and it sells like hotcakes, and I tried one out and it was abysmal. I have large hands and I could not even remotely use the thing with any ease at all.

The iPhone's size was specifically designed and tested to be the biggest phone you could use with one hand. It's very simple to use and you can text with it with one hand without even looking at the screen.

Why would I want something that has almost twice the area and barley fits into my hand:

Or my pocket.

Do people really enjoy using something that's so comically large or are they just lacking in sense and forward thinking?

Hey kid, you ever think that not everyone cares about using the phone with one hand? To make calls and everything else you can easily do this stuff with one hand. The only time the screen size comes into play is when you are reach towards the top of the screen to do something. To lazy to move your hand up a bit? Or drag your other arm over out of the bag of Cheetos to give some support?

All these comments of yours towards people who like larger screens have the same feelings towards you that like your puny screen. Like anything, if you spent more than 10 minutes at the store with the S3 you get used to the screen size over time as you would with anything else. I had the S3 and it was a beast of a phone and felt more comfortable in the hand than the iphone does. The screen is perfect at 4.8"...However this was my last shot at Android that honeymoon is over. Windows phone is my next frontier after trying out the iphone 5 for a month or two.

If 3.5" was the perfect screen size apple would not have increased it to 4" with the new release. The only reason they won't go bigger AT THIS POINT is because it would be a huge change for there 100s of millions of iphone users out there. They will gradually build up the screen size. I'll bet any money that within 3yrs or so apple will again increase the size to 4.3" by just widening the phone..

You may not like it, but many people do, and many more are starting to...Its just the way things are going and will eventually end up at. 5" like it or not will be what most phones will be in 5yrs...just get used to it and stop complaining
