Only one thing in that list that I want. Here are some iOS for iPad things I'd like to see:

1. The ever-wanted notification redo
2. A better way of managing the icons in a folder (especially more room for more descriptive naming)
3. Optional lockscreen customization for certain info (especially non-private info)
4. Revamped iBookstore that makes it easy to browse for books (iBookstore is really lame for browsing)
5. A couple new UI widgets to build with would be neat :)

A 9.7" device should have widgets! The home screen looks too plain.

Yes, this is definitely where Apple should be putting their efforts. If you spend a lot of time staring at the home screen it gets so boring. They should have more flashing lights, maybe somebody jangling some keys or something.

Some better or alternate multitasking would be nice. I had to switch between stuff a lot last night, and double-tapping the home button and then selecting the app was kind of a lot of "work" to do. Using a keyboard, perhaps SHIFT-COMMAND-TAB could be an option. I guess some three-finger swipe could work as well.

It would also be nice if FUNCTION-DELETE on the Apple wireless keyboard worked to delete items to the cursor's right in iOS like it does on Mac OS. Didn't happen in Pages for me.
The 4-5 finger gestures handle multitasking in a much better way than the double tap. They should be in the normal public iOS sometime soon but for now you have to enable your ipad for development to use them, they are fantastic though!

iPads camera app and photobooth app to be one app, and for video recording in photobooth just like on the computer

I'd like it as it just saves time for simple things like checking the temperature before dressing in the morning. Nice to have the temperature right on the main screen rather than having to open a weather app, wait for it to load and update etc. Though I agree the comment over the home screen being too plain was odd. I don't care about that, I'd just like it to be more useful!

It's not a huge concern of mine, but it would be a nice extra feature to have.

I don't see why you're always so defensive to others suggestions of things they'd like to see on the iPad. It's a great gadget, but like every gadget, it's far from perfect.

If it totally fits your tablet needs, more power to you. For me it's about 50% as useful as I'd like a tablet to be. Sadly that's currently the best out of any current tablets, so that's why I own an iPad 2. But I have no loyalty to Apple. I'll happily jump ship to someone else if they get a tablet and OS more in line with my needs out before Apple does.

I'm glad you agree with me that wanting widgets because the home screen is 'boring' is stupid whereas wanting App icons to work like the Calendar app etc. is not.

EDIT: I'm not defensive about things people would like to see on the iPad. Maybe you are thinking of when I respond to posts which confuse 'I want this thing' with 'the iPad sucks without this', or maybe the classic 'Apple is stupid because they don't implement my half-formed idea the way I think they should and anyone who disagrees is a troll'.

You are absolutely right that the iPad suits some people's needs perfectly, that it doesn't suit other people's, and that everyone always has the option of deciding the iPad isn't worth their time or money. It's too bad that your attitude which I share isn't more prevalent (instead there's usually lots of entitlement and people who need validation for their grievances).

Fair enough. Just many of your posts make you come across as fanboyish at times.

I too don't have patience for the haters who bash everything Apple does--even though I'm not an Apple fan myself.

I just like rational discussions of what people need and want in a tablet. Not people saying Apple sucks because it currently lacks features they want, and not fanboys bashing people who want features added because they have to defend Apple at every turn.

Everyone has different needs in a device, no reason people shouldn't be able to talk about their needs and how a device currently does or doesn't meet them without any bashing or fanboy loyalty etc.

I like my iPad. It's the best tablet on the market for my needs currently. But I doubt it will stay that way as I personally want something a few steps more in the direction of tablet PC when it comes to file management, USB drive support, having a tablet version of MS office etc.

The only thing I miss are widgets. To be able to see a weather forecast/whatever when I unlock the device instead of starting an app.

I never thought of this but this is an EXCELLENT idea! Now as I think about it, I think I would like the locked screen to be customisable so I can have it display whatever information I want. For example, an ideal locked home screen would display for me the following:

• # of new email
• weather forecast
• time
• notification from games that I'm playing
