I had an iPhone 5 before. At first I was disappointed because it didn't feel any faster and I almost regretted upgrading.

But now, after using it since launch day, I really love it. The main reason for this is Touch ID, it's so great.

I really like it.

The home button IS clicky, but I'm over it. Now my iPad Mini's home button just seems mushy. Kinda weird how that works after I got used it.

Touch ID is awesome. I find myself disappointed when I leave my thumb on my Mini's home button thinking it will unlock it then realizing I have to swipe+passcode. Using Touch ID became second nature to me very, very quickly.

I really like the look of iOS 7. Even though it took two weeks to get my 5S, I kept my 4S on 6.1 and did not upgrade to iOS 7. I DID have my Mini on iOS 7 since the second beta, however. Even then, getting a new iPhone with a new iOS was HUGE breath of fresh air. There's a bunch of design elements that were old and tacky in iOS 6. iOS 7 feels clean and really makes good use of the screen size.

I'm very impressed. I upgraded from a 4S. The 5S is noticeably faster, the fingerprint ID is 10 times more useful than I thought it would be, and improvements to the Apple apps are excellent. I like the lighter weight, and the screen size is just perfect (I don't want my phone to be any bigger). Battery life is MUCH better too.

I thought it would be just an ok upgrade, but it has far exceeded my expectations.

Love my 5S.
The battery is amazing. My 4 battery was freaking out near the end, so it was awesome running the battery down to 1% and having the 5S still working.
Touch ID is great. I wish I was less hygienic, because my hands are dry after washing my hands; it's hard to read dry fingers. :(
I even like iOS 7. Quick access to wifi, airplane mode, etc. is more useful than I thought. Ironically, I wasn't that jazzed on it when I had a JB phone.

The phone is a bit tall for my hands. If iPhone goes wider, I'm going to be very sad. It's a bit hard to hold as is. :(

Best phone I've ever owned, absolutely love it.

Love the camera, love touch ID, love the awesome new colors, love the speed, it's awesome!!!

Songs skip when I reenter the phone through the lock screen. Sometimes only a few seconds, sometimes all the way to the beginning of the song again.

ANNOYING.

This is the first phone I've ever owned and could call 'mine'. I've had it for two weeks and it's fantastic!

I'm with you there. I could be playing a game for an hour on the 4s and it'd just about kill the battery, not so much with the 5S. Love it. Still trying to get used to the size and weight though.

i love it!

i was kinda worried about the fingerprint scanner being a gimmick but it is very accurate and i still have it enabled.

relating to crashes, i've experienced 3 but they weren't that big of a deal to me...

I'm enjoying the break I decided to take from my annual upgrade routine. At first it felt odd to not execute on my annual tradition. But shortly thereafter that feeling was replaced by sheer excitement after I decided to do what I'd normally scoff at: change platforms. Androids more fun than anticipated and a learning experience as well. Win win all around.

I must have missed the post asking what your experience has been so far with your new android phone!? :p

Amazing very smooth UI experiance and noticed an improve in battery life :) overall great upgrade indeed. Oh yea Apple brown leather case is just the right combination with gold

Terrible battery life. I'm on my second model and start as a new phone. Could get to 11pm with 20% on my iPhone 4, my 5S is on 50% come 4pm whether I touch it or not!

The old phone would restart itself frequently, especially in the photos app or when taking a picture.
And this one 5 minutes ago just blue-screened and restarted also.

Beautiful phone very quick, great update from iPhone 4, terrible terrible crashes and battery. Making me consider another phone, I can't live with battery life as bad as what this gives.

Might want to check location services (System services too) and background usage apps.

Seen people get bad battery life on a 5/5S running iOS 7 due to those two specific features.

So adjusting those may help, ESP since you setup as a new phone. (I always setup as a new phone... but it is annoying to do)

Less than stellar

I received mine on Friday, two weeks after ordering online. I'm not a very happy camper at the moment. My 5s has signal strength issues. My 4s consistently has 3 bars, sometimes better, at my home. The 5s, on the other hand, is all over the place, often at one or two dots, sometimes three. It will randomly change while sitting still in the same location. The signal is mostly 3G, rarely LTE. Battery life hasn't been all that good. I love the new camera though. Couldn't get Touch ID to work very well, but my hands are dry so that could be the problem there.

I went through all sorts of testing with Applecare, including wiping and reloading the OS. Networks were reset here and at Verizon. I'm only a mile from an LTE tower with no tall buildings or mountains in between. So, this particular 5s is going back. I've reactivated my 4s for now. I already miss the better camera of the 5s and the lighter weight of that phone. I'm going to wait and see if the signal strength issue is something that is relatively isolated or not.

I'd turn on field test mode to see the actual numeric signal levels. Bars/dots aren't a good indicator of how your signal really is.

Turn it on for your 4s so you have a rough idea what you should be experiencing, so whatever iPhone you get next you have a baseline to compare it to.

wow, barely anyone is mentioning the camera! as a photographer, I'm excited at the prospect of a larger aperture and larger sensor. better processing software too, from what I've read. I have the 4s and I'm very excited at improving the one camera that's always in my pocket.

Surely the word "much" is a bit strong huh?

so by saying huh you are trying to be cool? i like it MUCH better than my 5. any problem? deal with it.

i like its battery and touchid and the camera. its simply amazing.

The phone - good experience - best thing is TouchID (although I'm currently without iPhone - long story).

Trying to buy the phone - dreadful experience.

VERY pleased with it, had a BSOD once, the accelerometer is off slightly, but honestly the thought of owning a 'competitors' phone over the 5S literally makes me shudder.

Went from an iPhone 5 to 5s. I enjoy the phone very much. The camera and the touch id were upgrade factors for me. Feels almost like the 5, aside from those two features that I have mentioned. I find myself purposely unlocking the phone just for the touch id :)

On a downside, I paid $329.00 for a phone that has a chip on the touch id crystal and might have a hard time returning it for a new one. I will find out more today.

The phone is great, but my experience not so much.

I'll add myself to the 5s fanclub. Received it about 3 weeks ago after running an iPhone 4 for 3 years. I bought a 5 last year but returned it as I didn't like it enough to keep it, the 5s seems far better (although the comparison is probably a little unfair as the 4 is a year older, slower and with declining battery life).

Am surprised by how good TouchID is - thumb and forefinger on both hands registered - and it is far easier/quicker than the passcode and, in my view, easier even than swipe to unlock. An occasional 2nd attempt required but not an issue and still quicker than passcode.

Battery life is far better and even with battery draining use (using it on a train with location services apps in a variable signal area) I am easily able to make it last a day - my 4 would have been at 50% by the time I got to work - without worrying. Now I can also finally be happy not to charge up every night as I know that on light use days, it will last without a problem. That's quite a difference from previously.

I've only had one crash of the phone, which was yesterday or Sunday I think. Apps crash occasionally but invariably the ones that crashed on iOS6.

It does have the compass/level issue but I rarely use that feature and I am happy to wait for a software fix or a hardware fix/replacement down the line.

iOS 7 is not a problem for me either - the apps that still have the old style keyboard look very old-fashioned and I really don't get excited about the icons.

The only problem I have - though this is admittedly a Ford software fault - is that playing music in my car through USB can be a bit annoying. As with the 4, the music player insists on shuffling and/or jumping to a random song in an album/playlist. Also A-Punk by Vampire Weekend plays every time I plug in as its the first song in the song list. playing genius playlists seems to help a bit but doesn't fully fix.
