3OH!3, Greenday (even their old stuff), Nickelback, Carrie Underwood, Train, Kelly Clarkson, all of that terrible pop/hip hop that plays on the mainstream radio station.

Uh it's got be Sting... (the Police were alright - but Sting? Uh!)

Closely followed by that dipstick with the 'interesting hats' out of Jamiroquai...
Jay Kay I think... Ugh!

Too many to list.

Pretty much all of the modern pop crap that you are bombarded with on MTV, radio, and crap.

Most people don't realize that some of the greatest music ever composed were written many years before they were even born.

Forgot some, all country music, Nickelback, Miley Cyrus and most of the Disney artists. The newest Black Eyed Peas with "The Time (Dirty Bit)" too...

John Mayer - way overplayed and way over-rated..

Not a huge fan of his singing and whatnot but he is one of the best living guitarists on this planet.

Right now, The Beetles. Because them and Apple made a big thing about iTunes and now all the TV ads and Apple's homepage. I've never liked them and don't understand why it is such a big deal that they are now on iTunes.

You really don't know much about music history, eh?

Least favourite artist: anyone appearing in, let alone winning, a Simon Cowell TV talent show... followed by an irrational and inexplicable loathing of Leonard Cohen.

My least favorite would have to be either Kanye West or Puff Diddy Daddy Doody.

Another vote for Kanye West. I don't like his music and I also think he's a real POS as an individual who has absolutely no common sense or respect whatsoever.

Marshall Tucker Band — Heard It In A Love Song and most of their other stuff

REO Speedwagon — Ridin' the Storm Out

Billy Ray Cyrus, mostly for that achey breaky heart song.
when it was popular, i'd cringe every time i heard it.
most country music sounds like crap to me though.

...Oh and that song by Far East Movement called "Fly Like a G6".

...and the Black Eyed Peas as of late. Love their earlier albums (the ones pre-Fergie). Their stuff now is all synthesizer poop.

The female singer for Far East Movement (her name is Dev) has her own song out, "Booty Bounce". She was allowed to use the "Fly Like A G6" chorus in her song too. If you're wondering what it sounds like, I'll spare you the trouble: She's trying way too hard to be Ke$ha.

Fans of old-school Black Eyed Peas, you might as well give it up. BEP are now a pop group with occasional hip-hop influence. "The Time (The Dirty Bit)" signifies the completion of the switchover. I have no problem with it, myself; many popular artists reinvent their styles over time. Dizzee Rascal started out as an underground/"grime" artist; he's mainstream now. Apoptygma Berzerk started as a Goth/Industrial act, changed to Futurepop, then ditched most of the synths and adopted a guitar-driven Emo-ish tone.

As far as synthesizer poop goes, well, I happen to like a bit of it, being a synth player/programmer myself. I'll actually listen to a couple of these throwaway pop songs just because of the synth sounds used in the music track. I used to love Stock Aitken Waterman productions in the 80s; their orchestrations were nicely arranged and mixed very well.

A lot of Christmas music gets on my nerves, especially when you start hearing it in early November. It wouldn't be so bad if you didn't hear the same songs over and over again. I'm just thankful I don't work in a retail location and have to listen to the same stuff for two months. I especially can't stand "Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney and "Happy Xmas (War is Over) by John Lennon.

I'm not a total Scrooge, though. I do like some Trans Siberian Orchestra stuff and Gary Hoey's Christmas stuff.

I especially can't stand "Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney ...

Personally, this song presents a conundrum for me. On one hand, I love the old-school analog synth lead. On the other hand, I really dislike the over-the-top sentiment. I can only hope that the syrupy sweetness was a bit of tongue-in-cheek sarcasm on Paul's part.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra is cool, yes, but I must admit to the guilty pleasure of Mannheim Steamroller. I don't think I've heard a better use of a Sequential Circuits Prophet-5. However, I also must admit that MS's more upbeat Christmas tracks (Deck The Halls, Joy To The World) get way overplayed nowadays; their non-holiday material has been nearly completely ignored for years.

Kanye does some really dumb things but I appreciate his music. I cannot deny his talent in that realm. No one's put out an album like MBDTF in hip-hop. Closest person I can think of is KiD Cudi. Two sonically refreshing albums this year from the GOOD music camp.

I really hate hip-hop/rap, I mean, I think it's degrading society and a negative influence. People think they sound so bad-ass speaking in slang/improper English... wtf? :(
