I think my iMac's name is the default of "My Real Name"'s Computer. I should really change that.

But my drive is named Samurai Zombie.
External drive is Man With No Name (with shweet Clint Eastwood icon)

iPod 1G Bad Motherf***er
iPod 3G Insufferable Bastard
iPod 5G Zombie Bastard

I like zombies. And samurai. And maybe bastards, too.

I had a printer named Enid once, but she died.

Since Sept. '06 my Black MacBook had been named Pearl, as in "The Black Pearl" from Pirates of the Caribbean and the disk icon was a gold doubloon with a skull on it.

However, last month the BlackBook needed to "go under the knife" with Apple service and had it's logic board and iSight replaced. When it returned from service I also replaced the 80gb hard drive with a much heftier 250gb drive.

I felt that it was time for a new name, since so much of the computer had been replaced, and I opted to call it "Victor" as in Victor Frankenstein. The disk icon was also replaced with a frankenstein drive (bolts and all) and the desktop is now this, from the Iconfactory.

my ipod nano 3rd gen's name,playlist future name,computer

my iPod nano's 3rd gen name is Homer Simpson
My Weird Al Yankovic playlist will be called bart
:)

I use multiple partitions, and name them after the female characters from Final Fantasy games:

  • Power Mac G5 - Aeris, Tifa, Yuffie
  • PowerBook G4 - Rinoa, Quistis, Selphie
  • Mac Mini (hacked Core 2 Duo) - Dagger, Eiko, Freya, Brahne (Windows XP drive for Parallels / Boot Camp)
Presumably, the next one will be Yuna/Lulu/Rikku, followed by Ashe/Penelo/Fran.

My big fat 160 GB iPod is named "Mog".

My iMac G5's internal HD is still called Macintosh HD, because I'm scared that some of my apps might confuse themselves if I rename it. Howeverrr, I have two external drives, the first of which is a 120GB LaCie I named Big Kahuna because 120GB was a lot back in the day and the second is La Isla De Muerta for, err, other reasons. My iPod Touch is called Esmeralda, my first-gen shuffle is Duke Nukem and my USB pen is called Tyrannosaurus Alan (after a glorious set of adverts in the UK for Volvic water — YouTube them!).
