Kensington Slimtype -- it's great on the fingers and quiet. not the easiest to keep clean.

i, for one, love the mighty mouse.

I love the wired aluminium keyboard but I use a Logitech LX3 instead of the Mighty Mouse which I really don't like.

My iMac came with the Apple Aluminum (Wired) keyboard and Mighty Mouse (Wired). For about three months, I used this setup because it was all I had. Then, the scroll ball on the mighty mouse died, and I went to Costco and picked up a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000. It worked better than the mighty mouse, but I could not stand its oversensitivity and lack of customization. It was also annoying to hear it squeak every time you clicked a button. (The cheap plastic did not like being bent) It also had a chrome painted border that was half scraped off in about a month of normal use. Then, after 5 months, I got fed up and took it back to Costco (who has THE best return policy in the world). I then went on Amazon and bought the Logitech MX Revolution for $75. I have been using it for about a week, and have been loving it. I can't live without the cool multi-speed scroll wheel anymore! I went to school, and they have basic Dell mice, and I was clicking it down and trying to get it to flick faster through web pages when I realized I couldn't. My friend, who was sitting next to me, just stared at me and I felt like a complete idiot. Anyway, if you need a new mouse, go for the MX Revolution. I really like the Aluminum Keyboard, but if you type for hours, it can get extremely painful. (I was writing an eight page report in one day, and I had wrist pain for three days)

links!! people links!!

And to answer some questions.
1.) I don't like the mighty mouse because the scroll BALL sucks! Other than that I love it. Now that I know you can go left and right with a normal mouse just hitting shift, I don't want to deal with the mighty mouse any longer. It gets dirty and stops working. Wont go up/wont go down.. clean it..repeat bah

2.) and for the apple wireless kb. It's only half a KB .. what happened to the other half apple?

old regular apple mouse, the one before the mighty mouse, and my macbooks keyboard, i wish i had that ugly hockey puck mouse from the old g3 imacs

New keyboard and razer deathaddler mac edition. I like the mouse, its comfy and the drivers work reasonably well. My hand tends to sweat on it more than usual though and its easy for gunk to get in the buttons.

I use the Logitech cordless Wave Pro keyboard, which comes with the MX 1100 rechargeable laser mouse. Best combo I've ever used :)

What's wrong with the Mighty Mouse? By the way it looks, nothing...but the incredibly slow tracking speed just kills its usability for me. I used it for 3 days, and had to put it away; it was really annoying.

I would love the mighty mouse if the ball did not get clogged all the time.

I wish they would get rid of the ball and make it multitouch.

Wired aluminum Apple keyboard (it suits me fine, and I have the old Pro keyboard around if I ever feel like going back to that), and the Kensington Ci20. Take the reviews of it as you will, I have two (have had them for over a year) and they work perfectly fine in regular use and gaming.

I am in the habit of buying cheap ass keyboards and throwing them away when they got dirty/damaged.. I really just couldn't care less.

My $20 dynex (best buy brand) USB cord got eaten by MY CAT so I took my parent's extra new apple keyboard (flat metal thing)

It's very different, but It's not too bad, actually. It does look neat, and having a metal keyboard is surprisingly cool. Of course, I miss my extra 20 buttons.

I'm using a logitech MX "revolution" mouse. Once you get used to 8 buttons, you don't go back. Plus the scroll wheel is freakin awesome (you can flick it and it doesn't stop rolling, like an actual wheel)

Apple filed a patent for that very idea back in 2007 I believe.
Check the article here for more details. (Apple files patents for anything it remotely deems as a possibility in the future) Not really reliable source of predicting future products, but they've considered it ;)

There's currently the Belkin washable mouse that has a vertical/horizontal scroll "ball-less" touch pad.

I'm currently using the aluminum wired as others here are. I've been really happy with it for the most part.

I got a Wacom Intuos 2 tablet awhile back for free and haven't seen a reason to go out and buy a new mouse since then. Also love this and I wouldn't want to go back to a mouse when using dual monitors.

When I absolutely need a mouse for something I actually have this connected to my keyboard. Mainly I need it for trying to teach my son to use the computer. He's autistic and doesn't quite get the workings of anything else I've tried, but has no problems with this one. :

I switched to a Happy Hacking Keyboard Pro 2 (HHKB2) last year from my bluetooth Mac keyboard after getting fed up with the clumsiness of the loose keys.

I tried out a friend's new style Mac keyboard before making the decision and it was indeed as horrible as I had anticipated but looked really nice, especially the way the led status light shines through the aluminium.

Difference between the HHKB2 and any Mac keyboard; big but I am not writing a review here ;)

For a mouse I have the Wacom Intuos 2; forget the mighty mouse or any optically controlled device. Once you get used to a digitizing tablet there is no going back :)

Logitech Dinovo Edge with MS Sidewinder mouse with smartscroll program.

Hi, just a quick question about the Logitech MX, is it easy to select what button(s) will be pressed to do both the Split screen thing (pressing the two side buttons in on the mighty mouse) and also to get the dashboard to groovily appear (mighty mouse scroll wheel). Cheers.

You just have to download the Logitech Control Center from Logitech's website and it allows you to configure all of the buttons to do almost anything on the computer. Quite the handy utility!

IBM UltraNav

Nobody mentioned the IBM UltraNav keyboard.

It's the standalone USB version of the keyboard as seen on higher end IBM ThinkPad notebook (with the red stick and touch pad with 5 buttons). I never own a ThinkPad but I can't live without this keyboard.

The real deficient of it is short of scrolling function in OS X because it has only general USB HID protocol support.

In Windows with IBM driver, the red stick also work as the left button and the touch pad can be configured with fancy feature; in Linux, the touch pad can be configured as left button + scroll area and I shell say this serve me the best. In either OS, you don't have to lift your palm to reach a mouse or touch pad for any UI interaction.

The other pitfall is the lacking of the Windows key (auto mapping to Command key by OS X). I manage to manually map the Caps Lock key to Control key and the original Control key to Command key; it actually works better in this way since the position of the Caps Lock key is a lots easier to reach than the Control key.
