I don't have a laptop. This will be my first. I have a customized PC desktop though, which I love, and keeps chugging along nicely.

100GB HDD
Windows XP (haven't had TOO much trouble)
1.81 GHz
AMD Sempron 3100+
512MB RAM

Ditched a 15.4" HP Core Duo 1.73GHz laptop for my Macbook.

Later realized I wanted the dedicated graphics chip and have now ditched the Macbook for a Macbook Pro.

Had an HP Pavilion tx1000 before the macbook. The HP is the worst laptop I've ever owned, even the HP Pavilions I've had before that were better. I chucked it after only 8 months.

Needless to say my next computer will definitely be a Mac too since Mac has convinced me in almost every aspect.
(Also because I spent around 4000$ on software for it, software I'd like to continue working with for at least another 5 years if not more :D )

Acer Aspire Laptop with 1GB RAM, Windows XP and 64MB ATI graphics. Bought it in 2005 and it is still going strong, I gave it to my sister. May I add that before I moved to mac in December 2007, I used Vista Ultimate on it from January 2007 to December and it ran fine even with that graphics card but I prefer macs and especially leopard.

I had two laptops nicked; a MacBook and HP Pavillion.

I got an iMac to replace the HP, and a MacBook to replace the MacBook :D

Also had an ibook 14" G4. Screen size was nice, but the resolution was
not so great. My girlfriend still uses it after nearly 5 years-was built like
a tank.

I used a 12" PowerBook G4 867MHz. That model was 5 years old last January. I got my MacBook in February.

HP Pavillion zd7000 with a 3.4GHz P4HT, 2GB RAM, 120GB 7200RPM HDD, nVidia GeForce 5700, DVD-RAM burner and a 17" 1680x1050 glossy LCD display. It weighed eight pounds on it's own, plus two pounds for the AC adapter and another five for the two extra batteries (since each one only lasted under 90 minutes playing DVDs, I needed three for a cross-country flight). I flew a great deal and it was murder on my shoulder hauling it around.

Oddly enough, as soon as I bought my Mk. I MacBook (2.0GHz Core Duo the day they were first launched), I stopped flying. Still, never regretted buying it and it served me well until I replaced it with a 15" MBP last month.

12" white G4 iBook 1.2GHz 1.25GB RAM 80GB HD. I miss the smaller size and that the LCD opened farther than the MB, but I needed something faster and got an offer for the iBook that was too good to refuse ($600).

Dell Inspiron 6000
Slowly died! It was a noisy slab of ugly black and grey plastic. I gave it to my Dad who only needs it for word processing.

Had an old Dell Dimension 8100 that I parted out and bought a iMac 24". Month later got a Toshiba Satellite laptop. Had that for one whole day, hated it, and returned it, and ordered a Black Macbook. The Blackbook was very nice, but didn't play well with all the DVD's I was burning. Got full credit back and bought a MBP. I will use this until it dies.

HP 15.4 dv6000 it was an entertainment laptop loaded wth xp when i bought it then a free upgrade to vista, built in tv card which crashed all the time, i do not miss the dreaded blue screen one bit, it over heated melted my power cords several times, i love my macbook now its perfect i have never had it crash and its silent as anything, gave it 4gb of ram to stop slowdowns and its great linked up to an external display, i dont know how people work with windows. my only regret is not getting a black book instead, maybe one day : ) think my next mac will be a MBP then when i graduate and have a permanent flat or apartment an imac. i miss a desktop some times.

I had an iBook G3/600 MHz from 2001 until mid December. I ditched it for the MacBook you see in my signature. I still have it, but it's in my closet and I sold RAM out of it and now it runs SLOW. lol 192 MB of RAM sucks.

I love my MacBook. Sometimes I miss the option and capability of having a dedicated graphics card/chip, but I don't play many games so I'm surviving just fine.

Dell Vostro - Vista XP

Also never looked back, its a shame i have to work on my Dell XP Desktop, but when i have the funds I will be getting a iMac!
