I have always wanted a Mac Pro with 12 cores. I do a lot of video editing. Which means that I need a lot more power. I may also be one of the few people who like to have the CPU unit separate. I am extremely OCD. I like to have a lot of empty space on my desk. Clean desks are good desks. Some of my other hobbies are using AutoCad, Google Sketchup, and other high-powered applications. Having the money for a 12 core Mac Pro would be awesome.

You also might like to read up on what real OCD is, particularly in terms of extremes. Liking a tidy desk and having a boner for top of the line gear does not qualify.

That's awesome. I loved those 12" PowerBooks. I still see people using them every once in a while.....at Starbucks, of course.:p

I was at Starbuck's yesterday. There was this really hot woman that I wanted to chat up but she was using a Toshiba laptop. Talk about your turnoffs.

PB G4 12", especially after reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

(I do hope that I'm not the grammar Nazi's next victim...)

Does that mean you're only 1/3 amazing?

Cant've isn't a proper word. Should be can't have.

'your an amazing video editor' is incorrect. You need an apostrophe as it's a shortened form of you are - so 'you're'. Your is the possessive, which I don't think you wanted to use in this context.

It's usually considered bad form to be a forum grammar-Nazi.

I deliberately made errors as I wanted him to fight back - I wasnt being a grammar nazi, i was being a sarcastic troll baiter... (probably worse, but still... better than being a nazi, especially since we won) and Im nowhere near 1/3 amazing. My Editing is closer to between average and a hackjob - hence the lowly Quad :p

Damn, Chris. You fail at being wound up in internet debate. That's much too reasonable a response - you really should try harder next time!

As you were.
:D

I prefer not to get wound up on Mac Forums - I like you people, you help me expand my collection of iJunk (one day Itll reach 300... then its time for a Sparta Flag. )

Oh geez....the friggin' Demis have invaded this thread. There goes the neighborhood.

I always wanted a 17" iMac G4; I find the 15" too small and the 20" too big. I finally did pick up one the other day for $100 off eBay. Bought a set of Pro Speakers and a new keyboard and I'm all set. Needs a stick of RAM to be decently quick and I"ll be a happy camper.

My next Mac purchase will most likely be a non-Unibody MacBook Pro. So much more elegant looking that the current Unibody MBP's.

I wish I still had my Macintosh Classic II.....

I'm at a point now where I'm actually perfectly satisfied with my MBP that I've owned for over a year. It still seems brand new to me. However, I've been thinking about getting an iMac for a little while now, and may consider it in a few months.

It's not happening now. I think I'll just save for a 13" MBP. Good power and can upgrade to 8GB of RAM which is necessary to have for me now.

I've always wanted a PowerBook G3... and now I've ended up with 2 Pismos and 2 Wallstreets  So be careful what you wish for! :p My 12" 867MHZ PowerBook died (logic board), and I've always wanted a replacement. However for $140 I picked up four 1GHZ to 1.33GHZ iBook 12" Laptops. So it replaces the 12" with more speed, good for running old games or software and the small size of the laptop helps keep it easy to store. Much easier than a 17" G4 iMac, much faster too. :)

If I ever see a Mac Portable cheap or a G3 All-In-One I may pick it up, however the CRT turns me off on those Macs. I have enough G3 iMacs as it is and I have no room for them. And of course I'm always free to buy more key lime iBooks. ;)

Haha, spoken like a true MacHoarder :D (Let me see... how long till I cross the dreaded 40 Mac barrier... probably 18 Months ish...)

I've crossed that barrier, it's bad. :p I didn't even count the iBooks, the G3 PowerBooks, and the other machines I've picked up since then. I wanted to originally sell some of them (back when a G3 tower was worth something), but by now they're not worth too much so I may as well hang onto the ones I like and the others for spare parts. Like my beloved Color Classic which thankfully has a twin brother with a LC 575 board in it, best $40 I ever spent, did a fresh install of 7.6 on it the other day, runs great, even goes online! :D

Oh, and how could I forget wanting a G4 cube? Someone locally is asking $100 for one and $150 for it with the CRT, but too much for me as of now. One day though, one day. :) Attached is a pic of the Color Classic online a few weeks back.

Aahhh reminds me that I used to be able to Browse the internet on a Mac Plus... such a shame I couldnt purchase it :( - Still System 7 was amusing, even if I do intend on getting one eventually to be a terminal box and sit on my desk. Doing nothing else.

I have always looked for a well preserved cube within driving distance.

Preferably with a >1GHz processor upgrade by Sonnet, or was it XLR8? I've had this carrier zif card in my 8500 back then, making it a G3 and really liked what it was capable of.

Lucky!

And yeah, the iMac G4 now a days is reduced to iTunes and e-mail, maybe some word processing (with AppleWorks, of course!).

Haha my iMac is running Leopard and is my web browser and youtube machine when my Thinkpad is working on some project for school or is in the bag before I go to school in the morning. lol I love my iMac.
