The following reasons:

1. Have the cash for it
2. Nvidia chips (even if not discrete ... finally)
3. Backlit Keyboard
4. More portable
5. Its lighter the the Pro
6. Fits my needs fine
Over 9000. Don't need the 9600 card
7. Style wise, its great looks like the Pro
8. I'm sick and tired of WinHells

Enough or want more? Anyways, cheers

Size and specs. I just did not the horsepower of the Pro and I like the size of the macbook. It is just the size I need. If I need any bigger I can go to my 20" imac.

size and weight for me

I could have gone with the mbp and the fact that the mbp screen quality is much better almost had me going that way

however, I could not live with the added weight and size of the mbp, I like my notebooks to be as portable as possible without giving up too much power (a la mba)

price gap

I realized how big the price gap was between a MBP and MB, especially with the new revisions. I can get essentially the same horsepower for 60% of the MBP price. I've owned PB's and MBP's for several iterations, and began to realize that there isn't anything special on the Pro models beyond the better graphics card and larger screen. This time around, it just didn't seem worth the extra $700.

Size and Price (like almost everybody else). Is really difficult to explain the price diference between the higher mb and the lower mbp. 2.1 more inches in screen (uhnnnn), second video card (uhnnn, would i really use it?) Firewire 800 (yes i would love to have it, but how many times i have use my firewire connections in 10 years?, probably 10 times. So for me I picked the higher priced MB.

well thanks guys.

Its nice to hear some sound rationalization as to what the pro forum is trying to convince me of. Im about 80 percent convinced to go with a decked out macbook :)

I don't have one yet, but when I get my MacBook it's going to be because I'd rather have a smaller, more portable device (vs the larger Pro).
