Certainly won't buy the DVD. You are right about your Power Rangers comment. Just think animation and it becomes a Power Ranger movie.

More Spoiler...
It wasnt explained at all in the movie, but my assumption is that the "transfer" process has to do with a massive bone marrow transplant, big enough to kill him (from his arms? *shrug*). Does it make much sense? Not really, but that's as far as my imagination could stretch it.

That didn't make much sense, but it didn't bother me as much as Viper and the twist on the Silver Samurai. I enjoyed it....

Nothing special. Kids wanted to watch it.

Great movie, watched it in cinemas, then recently torrented the DVD quality too.

When I first watched it, I thought Duke was going to last through the whole movie, but it turns out I was wrong. Like the part about StormShadow not being completely evil for no reason too.

Looking forward to part 3, Cobra commander is still alive... :)

Just watched Elysium in IMAX. I'll refrain from any spoilers considering most people haven't seen it yet. I was looking forward to this movie, and they could have done so much better with it, but it was not really what I was expecting it to be. It just didn't feel complete. And the accents were horrible (I'm looking at you Jodie Foster!)...

That's interesting. The trailers looked good (but then they usually do). Would you recommend it to watch or not? Or just don't go in expecting greatness?

Can I take it you did not like it? :) I'll probably watch it sometime.

I've watched it too, since I read somewhere a kind of encouraging review which put a different light onto it's overall catastrophic performance and that Avatar (which I haven't seen and am not interested to do by any means) comparison, nice and intelligently written...I thought I was up to something and got it rather cheaply on DVD...had a spare minute and the right 'popcorn-mood'...blahblahblah....complete failure. :D Such a poor movie and rightly trashed imho.

Ouch. I've been properly warned. :)

close, but think i'd phrase it more 'i was disappointed by it' as a review. i probably should have added more but it was late and stuff.

i saw a brilliant story told in a most absurd manner. little excellent bits were tied together with long stretches of patchwork non-sense, there was no flow, there were largish holes that were covered over, there was over acting and under acting, and one small glimpse of good acting. i don't remember if there was music or not, so it couldn't have been much if it was there.

not one i'll be watching again, going to go find the book to find out what really happened. strange but true.

Well, it would not be the first time a good book has been turned into a cinematic tragedy...

It's entertaining, as most action summer blockbusters are, so if you're into those, I'd recommend it. However, don't expect it to be amazing. I'd probably give it a 6/10 (the action was good, as were the graphics, but the story wasn't very strong, and that's important to me), but then again, I wasn't floored by Pacific Rim either, and others really enjoyed that one.

Thanks. I probably won't waste my time/money to go to the theater to watch it and wait for it on iTunes or Netflix. :)

Anyone see Europa Report? I may see this tonight, but to be honest it looks a lot like Apollo 18 (perhaps less on the horror side)

Any opinions, it seems somewhat highly reviewed.

Well I watched the Europa Report. I read a few few reviews and took the plunge.

The story line/plot were pretty good. The delivery of it was a bit off. Kind of like a documentary format with flashbacks. You had to pay attention to the mission time counter (or what ever its called) to see where they are, i.e., 20 months into the mission, or 8 days. It was a tad slow getting going in the beginning but it capture my attention soon enough. Overall by the end of the movie it was quite gripping and I do recommend it.

I just watched a couple of trailers and it looks alright. I'll probably give it a whirl.

Saw the trailer, looks like another aliens-in-space movie. Disappointed that it won't be showing in my local cinemas for some reasons, was hoping to catch it today after reading your post, guess I'll have to wait until the DVD release. :(

I think overall its a good movie, and the lack of special effects is a good thing, I think it adds to a richer storyline then trying to throw in a bunch of CG animations.

I think movie adds a fresh perspective, I'm hesitant to say too much because I'd rather not give away some of the details, its better to discover them yourself :)

Much agreed. Many times, CG is just too much and ends up distracting to an otherwise good film.

Just bought a ticket for Elysium. Will report back later.

Alright, so in my personal opinion the movie was just okay. Not terrible or even mediocre, but not anything spectacular either. My biggest complaint is that it takes too long to get things going.

Finally was able to watch Oblivion the other day. So finally a worthy sic-fi movie of the likes of Forbidden Planet, The Matrix, and Bladerunner. Totally awesome movie, this is a must buy.
