Tonight it was Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. What a fun little romp this was. Taken from the other side of a horror flick, nothing the heroes do turns out right. Not absolutely great, but lots of fun to watch.

Frozen all day every day ;)

My nephew has been staying over the past couple days. I don't understand how he can watch Frozen and Brave in a nonstop loop for 2 days.

On TCM, I'm watching The Howards of Virginia (1940) on this, Independence Day.
Beautiful young Virginian Jane steps down from her proper aristocratic upbrining when she marries down-to-earth surveyor Matt Howard. Matt joins the Colonial forces in their fight for freedom against England. Matt will meet Jane's father in the battlefield.

Just finished Top Gun. Always a good movie, even despite Tom Cruise.

It made the Air Force guys green with envy! :p

Watched Transformers 2: The Fallen. This was excellent. Incredible visuals! Decent story. John Turturro and Ramon Rodriquez are hoots. :)

Devastator

The integration of CGI into live action is almost complete... The final challenge is to replicate a believable human being, then movie stars look out! ;)

Looks like you are one of the only people who actually liked the second Transformers  Honestly, I liked the second film as well, and I didn't really get what the negative fuss was about.

Saw the fourth one (Transformers: Age of Extinction) recently, and I thought it was an enjoyable movie with impressive special effects and good action scenes. Not much else to expect from a Transformers film really, and it is not nearly as bad as the critics were saying.

My daughter and son (23 & 13) have watched Frozen about a dozen times. While it is a cute movie, I pretty much leave the room when they watch it.

that the one with the racist 1990s black robots? :roll eyes:

All the transformers movie were awful. I was just 15 when the 1st one came out and Slow Mo Megan Fox gave everyone a boner even gay dudes and made straight chicks want chicks

Watched Transformers 4 today in IMAX 3D. First IMAX 3D movie. Amazing quality!

The movie, ehhhhh. Pretty long. Kept checking my watch as well. Theres only so many explosions a person can take.

Pretty much can't beat that Bogart/John Huston combination!

Enjoy the Bogart roll!:D

Indeed. Off the top of my head, I cannot think of a more successful actor/director collaboration.

The next one is The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, with Bogey, John Huston and father Walter Huston. I think the John Huston cameos lend a bit of levity.

And I love the white linen suits and Panama hats.

So do I! I have one of these and I get quite a lot of compliments too. Which, as I was looking for their (Goorin Bros.) page, found that it's no longer available.

I assume, of course, that you've seen The Maltese Falcon and Key Largo...also Bogart/Huston films. Although I will admit, I think Edward G Robinson and Claire Trevor steals Key Largo out from under Bogart and Bacall

Both movies are on my favorites list. I like that you have to pay attention and think and follow the dialogue to know what is happening, on and off screen. No explosions and crashing cars here.

Claire Trevor received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Key Largo. I think the clincher was when she had to sing for her drink.

I love Fedoras and Panama hats. I have often heard that the death knell of men's hats was when JFK took the oath of office hat less.

Here is a link to Brent Black and his Panama Hat Company. Many interesting stories and videos.

I've heard that too and though I'm no JFK, I'm doing my part to help bring them back! I have Brent Black in my hats favorites folder.

Regarding number 2, The Fallen want to harvest our sun, transformers need to stop them, what not to like? ;) I'll probably see the 4th one in the theater and will report back.

I watched the "internets own boy" the other day. It's a very informational documentary and it was entertaining.

I tolerated the Homie Transformers. The story, and choreographed action satisfied me. I'm not sure what you expect in this type of action movie. :)
