I know that Shrink is a huge fanatic of musicals, so he'll like this one!

Yesterday on TCM I watched Dance, Girl, Dance (1940)
Judy O'Brien is an aspiring ballerina in a dance troupe. Also in the company is Bubbles, a brash mantrap who leaves the struggling troupe for a career in burlesque. When the company disbands, Bubbles gives Judy a thankless job as her stooge. The two eventually clash when both fall for the same man.

As a "guilty pleasure" :# I actually liked it.

Yup...musicals...love'em. Just my favorite of all genres.

I'll get that one in a minute...after I stick a shish kabob skewer in my eye.

No...no...I'm no knocking musicals...I just don't like them.:p

Aww come on. Don't be bashful, let us know how you truly feel!

Wouldn't the sewer scene be illegal to actually film? If i remember correctly, they were kids when they went into the sewer. Unless thats actually legal to show and im being grossed out for no reason.

You are correct, it would be illegal. Haha.

I'm too shy to express my true feelings...you'll just have to read between the lines!

I can understand not liking musicals very much, as I agree. But some of them are really good, for instance, "Rent" was a terrific show/movie, etc

Watched Transformers 4 today in IMAX 3D. First IMAX 3D movie. Amazing quality!

The movie, ehhhhh. Pretty long. Kept checking my watch as well. Theres only so many explosions a person can take.

I caught Transformers: Age of Extinction. Tremendous visuals and CGI, there was a story, Autobots being hunted by the government and hiding, wild card transformer in league with XXX (it's a secret ;)) Attempts at humor as with previous Transformer chapters, but this time came across labored, flat, and not funny. No one in this movie could approach John Turturro. Kelsey Grammer played a bad guy, something like I imagine in his former marriage. :p

I agree with you that the action was epic, but breached overload, too much of a good thing, which diminishes and actually becomes a bad thing, no longer special because there is so much of it, but I still was impressed by large ships falling on Hong Kong.

Ahh... I'll take your word for it, I don't go near the stuff. ;)

Was in college last time... :)

Concur. It was my first IMAX movie (no less in 3D) and I must admit, I was pretty dazzled in the first 15 minutes of the movie.

But after a while, the story seemed a bit too "fluffed." I still enjoyed the first transformers quite a bit more.

One thing I did notice was, as much as the whole autobots were infatuated with Sam Witwicky, there is zero mentions of the previous cast. :p

Yeah, I no problem watching musicals like Oklahoma! with out the need to smoke pot.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is pretty amazing sober. I even like Paint Your Wagon with Clint Eastwood's meager singing talent. :) Once in college was under the influence and this Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly movie came on. One minute they were talking and the next they broke into singing and dancing. It-was-amazing! :)

What ever personal issues Shia is experiencing these days, I believe he owned the franchise. The first two were worthy. This was not Mark Walburg's type of movie IMO.

Honestly, I can't be the only one who thought the girls acting was a bit wooden.

I thought it might have been the script that made her acting sub par in the avatar but after seeing her performance in T4, I'm starting to think that it might not be the script at all (i mean marky mark made it work)

She and her boy friend were a couple of expendable pretty faces. Sorry if this sounds harsh.

Tonight I finished Sgt Bilko. I think I prefer Phil Hartman as Caveman Lawyer. Sad he's gone.

I hadn't seen it before, but I remember seeing ads for it years ago. It looked ridiculous then, and really hasn't changed.

I loved Steve Martin in Sgt. Bilko. I think the point of the movie was supposed to be ridiculous, and it delivered it in great form. It's such a great comedy.

Opera by Dario Argento. His last truly good film until Sleepless. I still squirm when the seamstress is killed < ugh >

Haven't seen that one yet.

But did watch Tutti I colori del Buio yesterday, quite a nice trip! First Martino movie for me, more to come I guess! Edwige Fenech = <3

Thanks for recommending that one, kazmac! Loved the soundtrack as well!

I watched Jaws last night - I remember seeing that in 1975 and being terrified to go into the water. The sad thing is, it was at my cousins pool

:p

Seriously, I remember so many of us were freaked out to go to the beach after this movie. Seeing it again, made me remember how great this movie was.

Have you watched it anytime since 1975? :p

I've seen White Sharks in the news attacking people recently off the north eastern seaboard - near you!
