ya know.

they only needed one of those films. 2 & 3 ruined it for me.

I kind of agree with you. I could tolerate the second one, but they were milking it at that point.
I think second one kind of made sense to have in terms of showing the future part of it all, which I think a lot of people wanted to see, and it also introduced traveling to another time when you were already there from a previous time travel occasion, which made the whole time travel thing take on an even deeper aspect. The first film certainly stands on its own just fine, but I think the second one benefits it all too (despite being a bit twisty/longwinded in some aspects). The third one, on the other hadn't, yeah, didn't seem like too much came from that as far as adding or enhancing anything really.

Had to let a few days pass after Thanksgiving to want to watch Chef (2014) but it's a keeper, I really enjoyed it. It has revived my fondness for comedies, taco trucks and Cuban sandwiches (and kicked off tangential but fond memories of Cuban-Chinese restaurants in NYC as well).

I like the style of this movie, outstanding comic feeling characters.

The Punisher (2004)- Excellente! No arguments! :p Despite seeing this movie several times, this time my wife identified Rebecca Romijn (X-Men, Mystic) as Joan. I never made the connection.

Huffington Post calls this the best of the 3 Punisher movies. :) https://www.huffingtonpost.com/scott-mendelson/a-comparitive-study-of-al_b_149500.html

I saw Punisher in Daredevil Season 2, but have yet to see the Netflix series.

Saw them back-to-back just today.

Thor: Ragnarok, 8/10
Justice League, 7.5/10

But this is the one I'm excited for...

Fasten yo seatbelt! :D

Started (once again) with Punisher: Warzone yesterday. Decent and probably my fav from those three (although I probably never saw the Lundgren one and never saw more than 30min tops each - they're just not good :p )

So continuing my Star Wars Marathon before episode 8 comes out.
Up to 3.8 this week.

Enjoyable movie. I like that the movie stand on its own with separate characters (for the most part).
I also think the Talkin CGI is really clever.
Glad they added the extra Vadar scenes at the end.
Up next, the OT! YAY!

I just saw “The Circle” on Netflix. It really sucked :p
Didn't realize it was on Netflix, just saw it appear on Amazon Prime and watched it there. I definitely expected more (and it definitely could have been more than what it turned out to be).

Same. If only they'd have handled the final battle (not the Vader one) better..looks generic and has a weird pace, feels more like a trailer for the upcoming SW shooter/game than anything.
And Cgi Leia/Tarkin: definitely not a fan how it was done.

So what would you have done? Without CGI they couldn't have had those characters in it. Or would you prefer a look a like?

I didn't have a problem with it per se, but the long close ups were just distracting and took me right out of the movie.

Tarkin could have been shown mostly via the reflection of the glass panel (as it was briefly done) and from the side with obscure lightening. Leia with the door opening, showing her across the room long shot or maybe american shot (but definitely not with a close-up showing her slowly grinning) and cut. But that's just me :D

I wouldn't mind a good stand-in though - although I understand why they didn't do that and of course this can be just as distracting. Now it (lots of close-ups) appears more like a technical showcase which will be outdated already in a couple of years. Like what happened with the prequels or the "enhanced" OT.
