Disney's Pinocchio.
It's been ages since I watched this one. If you thought Pixar made movies for varying age groups, you should watch this one from 1940.

There's still so many parts in that movie that make me laugh. Like when he falls down the stairs at the beginning of his number.

Have I mentioned my love of The Matrix (1999)? ;) Great, ground breaking SciFi. It’s about people living in a world pulled over their eyes. :)

[doublepost=1529463881][/doublepost]The Icredibles (2004)- Wonderful James Bondish 60s spy vibe in this animated film, extremely smart and clever. I love the jungle animation.

I love the Matrix also! To me "The Incredibles" is one of the best, if not the best comic book/super human power movies around. I feel it still holds up and I just re-watched it prior to going to part 2. Great movie!

The Cable Guy starring Jim Carrey and Matthew Broderick is on the TV. When I first saw the film who knows how long ago, it took an embarrassingly long time to actually grasp that Chip is certifiably insane. Like really, and dangerously looney tunes. Granted, I was about 14 years old at the time the movie was released, but still.

Definitely one of Jim Carrey's highlights, a movie that's basically endlessly rewatchable. A great soundtrack, too!

Nothing makes me reach for the remote quicker than a Jim Carey movie. Any of them.
Can't stand the bloke.

Yeah, I can kind of understand that and know a couple of guys who think the same way. We often have heated arguments on the (undisputed) merits of the Ace Ventura -movies. They are wrong 100% of the time.

In general his films are pretty much either hit or miss for me.

Just curious, have you seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? It stars Kate Winslett, Mark Ruffalo and Elijah Wood, among Carrey and others.

I'd say it's a great film, and features some really good acting by Carrey in a serious role.
Nope. Last film I saw him in was the Mask. Not watching any more thanks.

I can’t say I’m at all a fan of Carrey’s either but I heartily recommend Eternal Sunshine. At the risk of over-selling this wonderful film (not one of my “all-time” favorites)...

Written by the same guy who wrote Being John Malkovich and Adaptation, this film plays with very sophisticated notions of memory, emotion, identity, the fragility of relationships, and other deeply human issues in ways that are whimsical, heartbreaking, fantastical, absurd, relatable and bittersweet. Oh yeah, and funny. Truly one of the most inventive movies of its decade. That doesn’t mean you’ll love it or want to suddenly re-evaluate all the comedies I still avoid BUT.... And if it helps, consider it great DESPITE him. Michel Gondry directs a phenomenal ensemble cast in what is like the entertaining and sympathetic equivalent of a Philip K. Dick story without all the paranoia and psychotropic stuff.

Thanks for writing the post I was too lazy and inarticulate to write. Agreed on everything.

Saw Dumb and Dumber around the time Vegas Vacation was up for rental. It was funny, but I preferred Vegas Vacation more.

Dispicable Me (2010)- Good movie! Interesting that this comes from Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment a debut feature for this animation studio. My critique is that the main villain is not that Dispicable. :) The secondary villain, Vector seems to be modeled after Bill Gates, at least physically. ;)
