Just watched "Coco" with my daughter. I've come to expect excellence from Pixar and they did not disappoint! It was a really good family flick and deserved its Academy Awards and Golden Globes! Well worth the watch!

Dispicable Me (2010)- Good movie! Interesting that this comes from Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment a debut feature for this animation studio. My critique is that the main villain is not that Dispicable. :) The secondary villain, Vector seems to be modeled after Bill Gates, at least physically. ;)

I think the term is anti-hero. Like Magneto or Michael Corleone.

Ironically, what got me interested in this movie was watching the first 5 minutes of Dispicable Me 3 and the disco thief on Netflix. I decided I needed to start at the beginning. :D

Think James said it wasn't very good and did an injustice to the books. Or that the third book did an injustice to the first two novels.

Is Red Sparrow worth seeing?

Wait for it on cable/streaming, it's apparently bland, very mediocre.

If you want a terrific movie in the same vein, Atomic Blonde is a ton of fun, more towards John Wick in terms of action, it has a couple of the best fight scenes I've ever seen filmed, and unlike Lawrence, I actually believe Theron is capable in that capacity.

That was a fantastic film. Loved every second.

Thank you. I’ll check on that.

Could you guess we have kids visiting?

Chicken Little (2005)- Love the music soundtrack in this, characters Foxy Loxi, Abbey Mallard, Runt, and Ace, the Hollywood Chicken Little Character in the movie at the end of the movie (which is brilliant), and the baseball pennant sequence, oh, plus aliens. :)

A River Runs Through It.

Finally got around to watching this one. I really enjoyed it (possibly the best movie I've seen this year so far). However, I would be cautious about recommending it to anyone, as i think it is best suited for a more mature(ie wiser) audience.

Technically very well done on all fronts. I adore the time period and the location as well.

Interesting comparison. I find Lawrence to be a actress with on screen presence, she held up The Hunger Games, but I’ve hated her in the X-Men Movies as Mistique, and I think her strongest roll was in Silver Lining Playbook, but I’ve not seen all of her movies.

Although THG constituted an action film, it’s a great illustration when compared to Atomic Blond which had an impressive action sequence (but the story felt flat, only gaining a 64% Like at Rotten Tomatoes), and especially in Fury Road, (which blew my mind as one of the greatest action, chase movies) that in presence and action, Theron has a hard edge and easily runs circles around her. If you remember, Theron also did Monster so she has depth, I believe more so than Lawrence, but when I look at SLP, Lawrence can hold her own in drama and is still relatively young.

Btw, good performances, but I hated Passengers. ;)

Incredibles 2

Wow, spectacular, was worth the 14 year wait (not really, deducing 1/2 a point :D) Technically dazzling, beautiful story telling, one of my favorite design styles ("Sci-Fi 60s"). Can't wait to own this and watch it again (and again ...)

I feel it still holds up and I just re-watched it prior to going to part 2. Great movie!

We did the same, re-watched the first one Sunday night, saw #2 yesterday. The sequel does a fantastic job of keeping the exact same design, but with a bit more character detail (I love how they updated Violet), and dazzling levels of fidelity in the background, sets, etc.

Both me and the wife loved this movie. There are some really touching scenes in this one. One scene that always gets me is the discussion with the gentleman in the hammock and how if there is no one to remember you... Boy that one hits home.

I saw Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Saturday afternoon. We all really liked it.

Looking forward to this one too!

I’ve not seen this yet, but I am thrilled the story continues right where if left off.

Yes! You could watch them back to back like a 4 hour continuous movie - and when you say "right where it left off", you are correct to the second, like in the parking lot with Cliff ... er, I mean the Underminer! :D
